what was that whopper Sven thinking bringing Theo Walcott? Where was the sense in that? he's scared to play him. maybe he's deluded himself into thinking that Theo will score the winner in the final, and everyone will say Well Done Sven, inspired move, here's your knighthood,

(now fuck off back to Sweden, you overpaid turnip.

Don't knock Theo until you've seen him play. He'll be no worse than any other player there. And let us be honest, it's not going to be hard for him to prove himself among that lot is it?

not blaming Theo at all. hope he gets on and skins them.

just blaming Sven for this carry on.

 what does Sven do?

Don't think he's knocking Walcott himself, more the descision to bring him. Having found ourselves now with precisely two experienced strikers (one half-fit, one a bit rubbish) the logic in bringing such a young untried player seems a bit flawed.

I bet Jermaine Defoe is well gutted... It was madness to take only 4 strikers, even with goals coming from midfield... David James as an emergency striker anyone?

Obviously he don't care as he's leaving after the WC. It seems to me, looking at a few players in the squad, that he just thought bollocks to it- lets have a game of subbuteo!

It chokes me to say it but yep, Defoe should have made it.

Although he'd have been a weak link too, but a proven one!:evil4:

Or big Dean Ashton... Just think whoever it was they needed (at least) one more striker... Agree that Sven just seems to have thought 'Sod it, I'm off, can't be bothered to spend too long on getting the balance of the squad right' and pissed off for a bit of gentle fondling with his PA or something...

What's the excuse for the rest of the squad though?

Poor performances all round at the moment!

I'm genuinely at a loss as to what is going wrong - I mean there are obvious problems, but solving them... The game last night was weird - plenty of good moments and points, but the overriding sense of something deeply and irrevocably wrong...

It wasnt too bad apart from set peice defending.

You dont dominate teams like Sweden for 90 mins.

We aint that good a team, England would get whalloped by quite a few Prem teams.

Wasnt that obvious? :uhoh:

Great classic moment caught by TV cameras, after Owen went down Sven shouted,"Quick, get Dafoe on" to which McClaren replied "You didn`t bring him"

And no that wasn`t a joke, check it out for yourselves. Fuckin unbelivable!

:abovelol:  That is a classic. It should get replayed constantly if England go home early. It will be the answer to the question "what went wrong?"

Just curious that's all

3-0 to England

It's on the same site. The Muengersdorfer stadium was knocked down and The Rhein-Energie Stadion built in it's place.

The new one opened on March 31 2004 and took about 2 years to build so the old one must have been closed not long after the Robbie / New Order gig.
