they are reporting that Arsenal have Sealed the deal for Argentine Striker Carlitos Tevez!!!!!

supposedly he is coming in for his medical tomorrow!

should i get my hopes up or is this a big pile of Horse$hit?

All kidding aside, I agree completely.

It's not a picture they were painting of LFC supporters or liverpudlians--it's the picture they decided to paint of all football supporters at the time. Liverpool made an easy target because Heysel was so fresh in people's minds it was simple to establish a bullshit pattern. Had the tragedy at Heysel not occured I think there wouldn't have been the same spin. (Yes, I know the Sun is vicious crap but they are also stupid--so I don't think they'd have come up with it right away). But really it's another piece of class warfare waged by the country's elite on the working class with the northern poor as a perfect scapegoat. :P

What's being American have to do with it? I spent wayyyyyy too much time working with the yellows in Stockport and hanging out with annoying socialist worker types. That's where the OTT almost marxist exaggeration came from.

It's purely my opinion but I am basing it on experience not anglophilia. God forbid an American know anything about socio-economic and political climate in the UK, let alone get PAID to know it :P !

Unlikely I guess--I dunno I don't think where someone is from should be a measuring stick on how valid their opinions are. Unless they are Luton Order of course :evil4: Because there's always hidden depths somewhere...

Governmental Policy--my degrees are in politics and my first real "out of college not an internship" political work was in m/cr so it's kind of where I got broken in.

Health Service--It's shit and mismanaged. That's experience of paying into it and getting shit service when my 6 months were up and I was actually allowed to use it. UGH. I had some health issues for which I had to actually go home because I couldn't get a quick enough appt under nhs (still cheaper to fly home and pay the dr than go private in the UK)

Can't tell you why football except I fell in love while I was over there, and now with fox soccer and other cable chans showing almost every match every week I can get obsessive about it. Much to the chagrin of my friends here now. And my wallet because BOTH derby days are during peak flight season!!!

This thread is sufficiently hi-jacked...
