I think we'll do AC tonight. Every part of me wants it to be United vs Liverpool, but on the other hand i dont know what would be worse, the stick for not reaching the final or that if we got there then lost.
Two years later, all i ever hear is 5 times. Thats the trouble with Liverpool. They never let anything go. As much as winning the CL 5 times is a big achievement you need to prove yourself in the home league.
Can't think of anything worse than a Scousers vs Mancs final! Way too many placcy fans of both clubs in my office!

The prospect of a Man U-Liverpool final is the most terrifying thing of all time. Not necessarily because defeat would be utterly soul destroying, but because we'd both get banned for about 10 years

...then you need to prove yourself in the Champions League - what is it, 8 or 9 Premiership titles since it started and just the victory from the jaws of defeat thing in the '99 CL? That's not a good ratio for a team consistently the best in England..
Most non-plastic LFC fans I know don't fool themselves they're the best around when they're clearly not.

The point i was making is United dont go on about how they've dominated the Premiership. Looks like we'll do it again this year, but we'll have our 5 minutes of glory and move on if we're lucky enough to be in Athens on the 23rd.
United are not the best in europe, far from it. But i dont think winning the CL makes you the best either, I'd say Real Madrid were probably better than any english side, but they've failed to make the grade this year.
The bottom line is 90 minutes can change everything. I admit i've got a real issue with the Liverpool-United rivalry, but i never say foul when it isn't. Kuyt's goal in extra time was, i thought on side and they deserve the place they've won.
Just a shame it goes into this side show penalties all the time.

They go on about the CL because they've got little else to go on about! Pains me to say that... Winning the CL doesn't make you the best but the teams who have done consistently well in it have had 7 or 8 year periods where they have been overall the best in their domestic leagues and have carried that through into Europe. In the Premiershit it comes down to away form and that's been Liverpool's downfall as long as I can remember, but the key to success in CL is holding your nerve in the away leg, which is what they've been good at - go figure. A 1-0 loss in the CL away leg is a result, not so in the league though!
And I'd just like to add that Mourinho is a total f*cker...
