I thought Nick already answered this somewhere? He helped transform Fulham. Okay, admittedly, with an awful lot of money, given their then league standing, but he did a job there.
Two European footballer of the year awards can't be sniffed at though.
Surprised no-one's mentioned "Head Over Heels in Love". Anyone remember that? Doesn't seem to be a vid of it anywhere on t'internet, which is a shame. 
He certainly seems to have won a fair bit of respect after his England failings died down...

Apparently his album back then has become cult status and EMI may re-release it.
