True,
but money talks ![]()
bit of a typo, with the season being extended to 39 games, the extra 10 games, isn't the season 38 games at the minute?
just a promotion exercise really to raise the profile of the premier league around the world. can't see it happening, not an extra 10 games anyway.
And to think I went to Ewood as a lad in the seventies, dad helped me climb over the turnstile, then went and sat on the ash running track watching reserve games.
Remember being sat next to Allan Clarke. He was, I think, Leeds reserve manager at the time and i'd never heard swearing like it. I was only about 8. Looked round to see pops pissing himself at the look on my face.
Then progress to the first team games in the old BB end. Find your numbered pillar and meet your mates. Surging. Piss running down the terrace. Coppers hats being knocked off when they came in to knick anyone. Away fans in home ends. Playing football for the love. Watching football for the love. St Johns Ambulance men and women all wore black national health specs. Standing up on the perimetre fencing and goading the opposition keeper.
Garner scoring 5 against Derby County. The playoff semi comeback against Derby. Going down to Bristol Rovers on the last day of the season in May 81 and winning 1-0 someone with a tranny radio says Swansea are losing at Preston. At this point Rovers are heading to Div 1. Turned out Swansea were winning....think the lad with the tranny took a pasting.....Swansea fans on the M6 after the game. The play off semi V Palace, Rovers 3-1 up from first leg then freeze away at Selhurst, then the playoff win V Leicester, Speedy'd dive for the pen, Glen Keeley almost causing WW3 against pompey, getting chased off Stoke fans. Went through a hole in a fence, but a fat lad could only get the top half of himself through said hole! Result, extended arms from two of us pulling him and battered bollocks and arse!! The away days.. God. And then the derbys v the dingles ...but thats for another day.....
Sad to say but I prefered it when rovers and footy in general were shit.. cos the times were great.
What a load of shite.
After all its only the top clubs they'll want anyway. No disrespect, but who the fuck will be interested if Reading play Fulham in New York?
Its a joke!

i recall some lads charging over the motorway to the swansea fans on the other side.

that birmingham chairman mr Gold has just got me fuming.
he was being interviewed and said its not about money.
he then called it a brand and said it would make money
finally he said it will help birmingham city's profile, therefore bring in more money to make ground facilities better for the FANS
Bollocks
what utter bollocks
'help facilities for fans' thats a lie you bastards

Dildos. End fuckin of fuckin story.
But havin said that I've not heard many club chairmen venting any anger like the fans have. So I think that their silence says more than anyone on here, there or anywhere can say.
I've been sayin that footies goin up its owwn arsehole for about 3 years. As a rovers fan i think we have seen this comin for about 2 years now and other clubs fans are just about catchin on. The likes of boro, fulham, wigan, dildos (brum), even reading have seen their attendance drop after 1 year in the prem.
I know that sky will always make out that dildos v boro is gonna be the match o' the season but i never bought it n never will.
I think i'm close to takin Malcolms, next door, offer of going to watch Rochdales push for promotion.![]()
Up the dale, up the dale, up the dale!!!
