Samaras, The Greek Tragedy

I didn't watch all of the game, but was heartened to see the Greek Tragedy return to his MCFC form last night. Lollopping onto the pitch well past half time, getting in the proper footballer's way and generally acting like a big gangly floppy-haired flid. His motivational skills are still the same, randomly patting his team-mates on the bottom and waving his arms at them before every set peice, generally caused by his own ineptitude, then removing himself to a part of the field where the ball isn't going to go.

At a City game last season my son (who's was four at the time) shouted 'you're going the wrong way' at Samaras when he got the ball and set off in the direction of his own goal, catchihg his own defence completely by surprise.

My son wouldn't have bought him from City. I wonder what Celtic were thinking in buying this soft, useless waste of a shirt?

And no, you can't have your money back.

I have actually been rather encouraged with his performances thus far. Made his debut against Kilmarnock and scored a peach. Looked lively in subsequent sub appearances against Aberdeen and Hearts and was unlucky not to be awarded a penalty against Barcelona. I gather we have agreed a deal for £2m if both parties are happy in May.

A penalty against Barca?

Was that the incident when he got booked for diving?

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh. Seeing him on Wednesday brought back a few painful memories of a boring season, that's all.

I'm sure you'll be happy with him in May. Just send the money now, it's fine.

I remember when they bought him, and Pearce was saying, hes one of them players who they've bought as an invesment in a couple of seasons hopefully they could sell him for £12m and double the money, but £2m

The truth is that the real good players here in Greece are rare ...

Id agree with John about him,

and as an added bonus,he's caused Vennegoor of Hesselink to get the finger out,and start looking interested.

Time will tell....
