Easily eclipsed by Berbatov, Rooney and Tevez*, shirley?
(* what did Yernited have to cough up for Tevez in the end, was it ever made public?)

We got beaten by nine men on Saturday, suddenly we're good enough to beat the richest team in football. Funny old game...

Shouldn't there be a whole thread - nay, an entire forum - to discuss the sheer life-affirming wonder of this result????

There's plenty of 'it was only the reserves' speak coming from Manchester. I jokingly remarked before the game that by leaving Robhino behind they weren't showing us the respect we deserved but lets face it, the Carling Cup is probably about no 87 on MCFC's list of priorities.
Still, it's nice that a squad that cost less than 2 weeks of Robinho's wages can have five minutes in the limelight.

Mancunians "speak"?? When I lived there the best you got was a grunt. If you met someone particularly articulate they might temporarily drag their knuckles off the floor and stab you.
And this was in Didsbury.

How many times were you stabbed then, Martin?
Or threatened with being stabbed?
And of those times, what percentage were you camping noisily around and being a smarmy little cunt?
Eh?

Funny how sensitive people become when they get their multi-billion pound arse spanked by a bunch of low-rent rent boys from gayer than gay Brighton and Hove.
I got stabbed all the time, Col. Just don't want make make a fuss, like....

Mark Hughes was quoted in paper as saying he took Carling Cup very seriously as its often been used as a springboard for clubs to get into the top four of Premiership or Europe. (Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool have all benefited by winning the trophy on going onto better things (well maybe not Spurs!)).
So I did chuckle when I saw they lost. Well done Brighton!
