New Order's 'Substance 1987' to Receive 4-Disc Reissue with More B-Sides, Live Set
New Order will reissue Substance 1987 on 10 November via Rhino Records across multiple formats, with the centrepiece a 4CD expanded edition adding alternate versions and B-sides alongside a previously unreleased live concert from Irvine Meadows recorded on 12 September 1987. It's coming as double LP (with a retail-exclusive blue-and-red coloured pressing), double cassette, and digital; 12-inch singles for 'True Faith,' 'True Faith Remix' and 'Blue Monday 88' reissue at the same time.
Substance 1987 will receive a full remaster and reissue on 10 November via Rhino Records. The 4CD expanded edition is the main event: it includes the original discs 1 and 2 (singles in 12-inch form and numerous B-sides) plus a disc of alternate versions and additional B-sides, and a previously unreleased live set from Irvine Meadows recorded on 12 September 1987.
The original 1987 Factory Records compilation was definitive in its scope: every New Order single to that point in full 12-inch form, plus plenty of B-sides, newly re-recorded versions of 'Temptation' and 'Confusion', and the new single 'True Faith' with its B-side '1963'. The reissue comes as double LP (retail-exclusive blue-and-red coloured pressing), double cassette, or digital, alongside simultaneous reissues of 12-inch singles for 'True Faith,' 'True Faith Remix' and 'Blue Monday 88'.
