Uh, that warning looked suspiciously like a pop-up

I was just now dicking around on Yahoo, minding my own business, when suddenly something offical-looking informed me that the "SoBig" virus had been detected, and for me to shut off my computer and save any files I had saved. I couldn't help but notice, however, just as I was prepping to log out, how the warning also contained something about how my "current virus scanner" couldn't protect me against the virus...call me crazy, but I may have just been the victim of some oppertunistic company trying to sell me on their anti-virus program by making me think I'd stumbled upon the SoBig virus :nonono:

This is why I never had an anti-virus on my computer.

Gee, I'm convinced 90% of the viruses are done by the companies selling you anti-virus.

The only reason to get a virus is called ignorance of stupidity :D

In fact the only time I launched a virus by mistake it was the I Love You Virus because I wanted to see how it was done, and wasn't aware that double clicking on a .vs file executed it instead of opening it for edition like all other programmation file... Fortunatly I was not home, but at the country's biggest telephone company :evil4:
