does anybody watch this? since there's so much hoopla surrounding the show i rented the season one DVDs from blockbuster to see what all the fuss was about, and i'm now hooked. as i don't have HBO i'm screwed, as i have to wait until season two comes out on DVD. what a brilliant show.

I watched some of the episodes in the last season. I wasn't overwhelmed.

The first series was great, but now its so awful Ive stopped watching. Itd be a slight improvement if they introduced just one character who you wouldnt want to kill. They`re all so unlikeable!

I like the show. The daughter (Claire) is beautiful. Her red hair...and she's oh so angsty.

Another non-HBO cable sufferer here, but what I have seen of the show hasn't led me to believe I'm missing too much. Granted, the networks aren't much better ("The West Wing", you should be canceled by now), but I can't help but think the credibility that HBO has developed with dramas like SFU and Sopranos is basically because they can get away with profanity, nudity, etc, while NBC/CBS/ABC can't.

in some cases you are right. like in "OZ," the show's cred came from the profanity and nudity. take those away and there wasn't much there.

the aesthetics on "six feet under" are far better than on other network channels, the dark comedy/drama gives the show way more dynamic than what the networks have to offer. it is a cut above network TV.

I will concede that I haven't seen enough of "Six Feet" to make a value judgement. If I did get to watch it more, I could say. At any rate, I was rooting for "anything but the West Wing" to win the best show Emmy, and I think Six Feet would've been an acceptable alternative

Favourite scenes from 6FU,

Paco (dead, lying on the slab being "repaired"): You're checkin' out my dick David: I was not! Paco: I'm just fuckin' with you, man.

Man: Great! 12 dozen yellow roses, sent to this address, please. Ruth: What would you like the card to say? Man: "Fuck you, cunt". Ruth: I think it would be more personal if you write that.

Or the one where the porno star got electricuted in the bathtub and they had trouble making her fake breasts stay up.

my favourite moment: the young man--beaten to death for being gay and appearing in his bruised and battered state to david, chastising him for his 'sins' until david finally acknowledges his own homosexuality to the members of his church...when the boy finally appears whole again, says to david 'thank you,' and fades away.

A beautiful scene, that one.
