As for the homeless bum they captured, I think it's good for everyone concerned, Iraqis and Americans. I don't think it'll put a stop to the attacks, but maybe we'll get better at stopping them.

I'm glad they've got him, even if tragically it might help Dubya get re-elected. It might improve the chances of a positive outcome for the Iraqis and improve the chances of our escaping this quagmire.
But it makes me cringe the way the operation to capture him was named after the excreable (but hilarious, and revealing of the way certain Americans view the world) Nicaragua-invades-the-US movie 'Red Dawn'.
Its kind of hard to believe this ragged old duffer hiding in a hole was masterminding the Iraqi resistence though...

- why of all the places you could have gone, you decide to go back to your home town?
- isnt 8 months enough time to plan an escape to a neighboring country, especially with all that cash?
