I seem to spend more time looking at old vinyl these days and tho' I will always stick to CD for regular listening, do you think its worthwhile getting a turntable again? Buying old New Order vinyl is a bit addictive (Even though i had it all in the 80s:() but i just can't decide whether to get one so I can watch again the spiral lettering rotate on blue monday & PCL and get all nostalgic......To make it more tempting, Richer Sounds are selling what I think are good turntables at cheap prices...

What do you think?

The Project that they sell is supposed to be good. Never heard it though. My cartridge costs 6 times the price of that turntable :jawdrop: I luv Linn :love2:

tons of new albums are being released on vinyl. so to me, buying a turntable was a very logical choice. and i can buy all the used NO 12" singles to my hearts desire.

go for it! I bought one last year. The cd's still enjoy the daily play, but I've introduced special VINYL NIGHTS at my place and it's great !

Yep, I've got a Project turntable, and it's great (good sound for a very low outlay).

Cheers folks, I am persuaded now to get a turntable (like I needed much armtwisting:D)

I think I might go for the Ariston one at £99 (bugar is I need to get my power amp adapted to take a turntable but that aint too dear)

Might think about the project one, its only 20 quid more.

there´s nothing like the vinyl sound, so go ahead! it´s interesting to hear comments about the digital sound being better. it might be "cleaner" but better? the vinyl sound is the most "wide" sound. it´s just comparing the same recording on vinyl and on CD. on the vinyl you´ll find basses and trebles that the digital sound still can´t provide.

make sure you spend time setting it up correctly - spirit level etc the projet one would be a better buy, & you can always get a more expensive cartridge...

wish i could justify a linn mind.
