I just get so upset when i see Atmosphere, people tend to see it as dumb, why cant they see joy division, like you know, there not just a band, when i listin to it in class there like wtf is that its gay, and i get pissed of, they will never understand them, its like im waiting for the day i rip there face off... Another thing, why does barney woot so much? he did it on Atmopshere and it got me annoyed and i wish atmoshpere was played slower, it seems like that kind of song.....

Barney has come to peace with who he is. Ian Curtis he is not. The last tour he seemed to be enjoying himself on stage. Perhaps his hootin' and hollerin' during Atmosphere was his attempt at getting the crowd to sing and get involved.

Now, NO would have played Atmosphere back in 1981-84, I bet it would have been more serious.

And for the love of God, please be consistent, Spike. One sentence you actually have a bit of sensitivity, & the next you're portraying yourself as just another moronic teenager, threatening violence on your fellow man.

Actually I've never heard that Joy Divison are considered gay by some people. Most of the unwashed here can't remember that far back. Personaly I think its good strong rock. New Order however are different. Those of the unwashed who can remember them have only herd Blue Monday, BLT and True Faith. Hence, they think of Synth Pop and lump the Order in with PSB etc. But we here know differently don't we.

Spike I think these people are just having a go at you. I think they would have a go at your musical taste no matter what you were listening to. Ignore them and they will go away.

in grade school and high school, my music taste was made fun of and called gay by friends who listened to candlebox, korn, dave mathews, shit metal, weezer, and in grade school, vanilla ice, mc hammer, and paula abdul. didnt let it bug me cause my interest in so called "gay" music is still relevant and my favorite bands are still making new music whereas their music is forgotten. where is vanilla ice, hammer, paula abdul (aside from american idol) and candlebox? and how does dave mathews, korn, and weezers music over the last 5 years compare to anything by new order or joy division or psb, or erasure? or more recent... get ready, bloodflowers, ultra and exciter, nightlife, other peoples songs, new morrissey album etc... and a lot of that erasure, pet shop boys, and omd stuff influenced a new breed of awesome synth-pop :) wait till you get to college and im sure you'll meet open-minded people who will at least respect your music tastes :)

All my close friends I met in college. I have extremely little to no contact with my high school friends. Don't know why, we drifted apart, went to different colleges and moved to different cities afterwards. My college friends tended to move to the city inwhich I reside. Infact, I am skipping my 20th HS Class Reunion to see The Cure this year.
