As for myself, reading The Glory Game, by Hunter Davies, about a year in the life of a professional football (soccer) team, the Spurs in the early 70's.
Also Dave Katz's biography of the crazy man himself, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, and a nonfiction work about an 1824 mutiny on a whaling ship, the Globe, in a book called Demon Of The Waters.
