Seems like everybody wants to be a rock'n'roll star...

Seems like every politician has a "campaign theme"...

Bill Clinton had "Don't Stop" :barf:; John Kerry has "No Surrender" :ignore:; and W has "Shot Down in Flames".

So if you were running, what would your campaign theme be?

I'd use the classic Tom T. Hall song...

I like beer...it makes me a jolly good fellow!!! :thumb:

Maybe "The Bad Touch" by The Bloodhound Gang...

"And if erected, I promise to restore frivolity to the oral office."

:D

And don't forget, New Order will play at my coronation... :deal: ...so get out there and vote early and often!!!

The revolution will not be televised by Gil Scott Heron

Well at least the section that says :

The theme song will not be written by Jim Webb, Francis Scott Key, nor sung by Glenn Cambell , Tom Jones, Johnny Cash, Englebert Humperdink, or the Rare Earth . The Revolution will not be televised.

other than that sample, Good Morning Britain by Aztec Camera .... for a life that's fit for livin , good mornin Britain .

Shoulda been a hit that one

Don Letts has done a documentary about GSH , don't know if it's for broadcast or a cinema outing , article in Times a while back , should be a good un , clearly GSH has lived a life on all manner of metaphorical edges . Incidently Al , is Don Letts involved with that venue you watch Client at , Ladbroke Grove way ? I may be wide of the mark on this

Guess he may have a night on at the Arts Centre? There's plenty of regular one-offs each and every month.

Cheers Al , I'll keep an eye on the T.Out listings , hopefully he may be doing somethin either side of the Mondays gig , that said I may be reading too much into the Client / Mick Jones / Carbon Silicon connections , which may be a little looser than I imagine . Thanks anyway , best wishes

i agree, excellent choice. he still plays at least once a week in the village.

as for me, i've always imagined shots of myself with fire behind me juxtaposed with the song 'the final countdown' by europe. i'd be wearing leather, of course. nothing deep or meaningful, though apocalyptic and scary nonetheless.:evil4:

Swap Europe for Grace Jones' version of Warm Leatherette , and we could be lookin at a landslide with no need for a re-count !!

GSH plays the village once a week ? Assume that's Greenwich NYC ? Can't believe I missed that when I went over to watch Hybrid/Hooky last year , hopefully catch him in Jan 05 :thumb: Thanks for the info 006

As president I would be expected to inform the masses, so my campaign theme song would naturally be Snow's 'Informer'

Or heck, why not the US edit of 'State of Shock' :p

Shrub's should be "It's the End of the World As We Know It."

Oops, did I just say that?
