Really? Good call! What were you playing? I always end up to pished in Vegas to make any money. Been three times in the last couple of years and never did any better than (just about) break even. I'm usually to be found at 4AM in some low limit, last chance saloon like The Boardwalk trying to claw back my losses with those big silver dollar chips!

I only ever play blackjack which I'm more than competent at. Know my multiple deck strategy chart off by heart! Me and a mate started practicing counting which is relatively easy when it's the two off you sitting in the house with a few beers. Any time we've tried it out at the loacl Gala though it's a different matter. It undoubtedly works but unless you've got a really slow dealer or the ability to do maths at breakneck speed (while counting Aces with your feet!) it's tough to say the least.

I'll master it one day though.

The only casino I've done was on the boat to Amsterdam for the Ajax game a couple of year back. Wheel Roulette.....I just kept gambling on Red and Black, won a good £50.....which was nice:D

Can you imagine the people these casino's would attract though, people with their UB40's as an IOU:evil4:

Grahame you use Basic Strategy with a + / - count and side count of Aces?

Do you also ace locate?

52% edge if you start with an ace

None of the afore-mentioned. I won the lot on slots. Picked up 600 dollars on day one off a quarter (2400-1 shot) then played two dollar games from then on. Biggest win was 960 dollars. Played the 10 dollar machines and doubled up on the last day. Believe you me, sticking 20 dollars in a machine and spinning that wheel is more electrifying than sex. Fucking gets the heart going. I blew 200 dollars in the time a mate of mine took to take a piss, but then picked up 800 dollars off the next spin. Not good for the ticker.

Was over in Vegas for the world poker championships. All the stars where there - Affleck, Ed Norton, etc. Two mates of mine are serious gamblers and one of them's going full-time after being made redundant from his job in Sweden. He is up A LOT of money playing internet poker part-time as it is. Few people here know him cos he did a lot of New Order with me back in the day and did Stockholm with me too on the last tour.

The only thing I chanced in Vegas was the Blackjack and I got caned off that. Fcuk knows how, it ain't the hardest game in the world, but had no joy so swerved after a couple of days.

Do you visit any of the London Casinos ?

Just wondering if you are ruining Gala's profits

There are plenty of casinos in Britain relative to its size. I dont know the details of the new proposals but certainly a relaxing of the laws a couple of jumbo casinos and foreign operators may liven up the industry. Staffing will be a headache though, have to be a major upgrade in salaries (acceptance of tips?) you might even get a smile from the dealers it is the service industry after all.

Basically it's a multiple deck "true count" strategy. A slight variation on the basic +/- scheme. I side count aces with my foot (or at least I try to!). Learned from a book by a guy called Silberstang. Bought it in Vegas on my first visit and left it behind in my room in Bally's the last time I visited!!!

Tried to get it over here but I can't remember the book's title, just the surname of the author. Drew a blank at Dillon's. Should "Google" it I suppose, probably available mail order.

As I said though you really need to dedicate a whole load of time to practicing regularly. On the odd time that I've tried it and got a really slow dealer it's worked though which really motivates you top keep practicing!

And I trust this is all in confidence Digital Mike?!!

UK does not have any displaced indiginous populations to run them. I vote no.

Would you perchance be insinuating I run a crooked game?

30 to 1 on roulette, dealer takes a push on BJ and on Poker must open with Jacks or better!!!Can't say fairer than that.
