haven't heard them in a while. i used to play their version of dancing in the moonlight a lot when it first came out (2000, or so, was it?).
one of them went off and married gail porter, correct?
Dan Hipgrave married Gail porter.Correct agent!they had a child, but have since split i'm afraid :(
they've definitely split up. I always thought that dancing in the moonlight was one of the most offensive songs of recent times. Achilles heel was all right, but not much else.

Aaaaargh! Dancing In The Fucking Moonlight. Always has me reaching for the machine gun. Jeff, a word to the wise - Toploader = tragically uncool.

i thought it was catchy--i really liked it. i don't think i ever heard anything else by them though, even though the press were all over them when they were popular.
Gail Porter did a nice "Houses of Parliament"piece. Her love rat husband was guitarist(I think) in that irritating band Toploader. The song I found to iritate as it was being played all over at the time, all the time.![]()

I find this one very catchy as well...seems we might be the Only Two!!!
But it does shock me to find out this is only 5 years old...sounded much older to me...
they where a gay indie band from maine and liked to sing about free love and cheesy lyrics
oh wait am i thinkin of the smiths?
