Our Londoninium house prices should start going the right way again now...
Er... I mean, what a great cultural boon that The Olympics are coming to the shores of this green and 'pleasant' land...![]()

I think that's 'sarcasm', given Barney Army's intro
.
Maybe NO will play a couple tracks off their next album at the opening ceremony given that the album will be pushed out until about then. ![]()
Congrats, London on receiving the 2012 Olympics, but I don't envy you....it seems like everywhere the Olympics go, disappointment follows closely behind.
Cities usually have to put in hundreds of millions, perhaps a billion or two of their own money to support the infrastructure of the Olympics (stadiums, parks, residences, etc...) and it seems like the hosting city never comes out ahead in terms of revenue.
The Athens Olympics were a major disappointment, if you guys remember the stands were barely filled.
Also, the Olympics has lost its charm since they have allowed professional athletes compete, i.e., "The so-called Dream Team" I have no interest in watching our already spoiled sports stars feed their already inflated ego by earning a gold medal by defeating some decimated team from Iceland or Pakistan or wherever...
Good luck, London...your going to need it.
Athens sucked because the fear of terrorism and the near incompletion of the facilities. This is what is bad about the Olympics--having to build the facilities everytime. I hope no one gets displaced to make room for the games.
I hope no one gets displaced to make room for the games.???
trust me half the folk in east london will be praying for it.
as for the french HAHA ,fuck off you bunch of frogs legs, snail eating bastards and take that fat cunt of a leader with u n all.
slagging off british cuisine the cheeky bastard, whats wrong with steak pudding n chips eh,or eel pie,or tapioca pudding, when u french tossers can come up with anything remotely more appetising then u can talk, but till then keep your garlic stinking mouths shut.![]()
And any Frenchies travelling to the games by train will arrive at........ Waterloo Station. :D
To Paris...don't even bother begging for the next summer games. I hear Little Rock, Arkansas, has dibs on that ![]()

Oh, yeah, the fear of terrorism. That's why I think NY should have won ![]()

Well, we're still paying for it in Montreal... one day our stadium will be paid, it's completely useless now that the Expos have moved to Washington.... ![]()

I had never heard that...is that true?
The trend nowadays is to stick a company logo on anything that has space...Atlanta put a Coca-Cola logo just about on everything and they barely broke even for their games.
I don't get it...why do these cities put so much time, effort, and money into an event that barely lasts more than a few weeks...All the obscure sports as well?? I still have no idea what the sport is called where the participants push a rock and then sweep in front of it...

Never was a quote so sadly accurate. Not even one day between the announcement and the bastards.
