Electricity was a sweet track...still is. Tesla Girls is a lot of fun, too, but it's a little embarrassing to crank it up in the car with the windows down....but that's just me.

I always thought that OMD kind of shadowed the marketing philosophy (or accidents) of NO. It's very interesting to find out now that Wilson and Factory had some involvement there. Growing up as a fan of the two bands, but having a very limited amount of information about them at the time, it seemed that Best of OMD chronologically mirrored Substance and that OMD was trying to follow both the artistic and business practices of NO.

OMD also always seemed to have that thing Saville talks about in New Order Story from the article 'How Cool is Cold', where a NO fan could rapidly go through a collection of music and know if there was a NO album in a stack simply by the style of artwork on the cover.

OMD started on Factory - i think they released Electricity. Saville designed the ARCHITECTURE & MORALITY cover also (probably others too?). I have a couple of their albums on vinal & recently got ARCHITECTURE & MORALITY on CD - it stands the test of time very well. For me Genetic Engineering was a great track - but it didn't do well in the charts & the more 'poppy' stuff seemed to do better - so McC veered the sound that way. It would be interesting if the two guys could get back together (they are meant to be talking again) & a return to the quality of their early stuff would be well worth hearing - certainly better than more Atomic Kitten filler!
