When somebody starts hearing voices, that is defo a sign of mental illness.

To be more clear, the article is quoting Palestinians and their interpretation of what Bush said and not the President directly. That along with the BBC's anti-American (especially Bush) slant on the news because of the Iraq war etc..etc..
The way I see it there are three possibilities:
It's bullshit.
Bush said it and actually believes it (god help this country if that's true).
Bush said it because he's a career ass kisser and figured this is what Shaath wanted to hear.
My vote is for #3

All I know is, Bush's own staff have said (anonymously, of course) something along the lines that he believes that he's in office because it's God's will, and that God is acting through him.
God help us indeed.
