if you don't consider the victims to be "human beings/real people", then it is not really torture...
the victims prolly consider themselves "human beings/real people" thou, so you don't want to give foreigners any legal grounds to bitch about .... this all makes perfect sense to Bush

I got sick to my stomach seeing McCain stump for Dubya last year. Considering all the crap that he went through in '00 running against the guy for the nomination, it seems like McCain was missing something...a pair of balls, perhaps?

No, if McCain has any chance of getting the nomination, he has to court the base of tHe Republican Party and make nice and say nice about W. Senator McCain was just playing politics

Yeah, he always seems to be smiling with gritted teeth anytime somebody tries to get him to say something bad about the Bush Administration. The guy is a fucking war hero, a legit one, and he has to kow-tow to the idiot chickenhawks in order to keep office. Whatever your political bent, you gotta feel bad for the guy. :(

I'm keeping out of this one, otherwise I may be tempted to write something sarcastic along the lines of: america knows best, therefore whatever america does is ok.
Hate to see what happens to our soldiers who are captured after revelations of torture make the headlines. Before the US used torture our enemies respected US soldiers. The Japanese would behead Americans with one blow via sword and then eat their livers out of custom and respect. B-29 pilots were beaten. Prisoners starved to death. Germans would occasionally shoot prisoners for the hell of it. Viet Nam treated Americans quite well with torture and babboo. Ask Mc Cain and Jane Fonda, they were there. In Iraq the fucking Mujgdies will broadcast live the hacking off heads slowly after a few days of extortion. With Bush's remarks things will get much worse. I am not suggesting that torture is necessary, it is not, but be sure to look at what the US has faced everytime it fought with those of different values and cultures.
