What a game! Could have been 8-6 and nobody would have complained. Quite how the Argentinian keeper made those three saves from Rooney, Owen and Beckham I'll never know. A wonderful example of the beautiful game between two very good sides. Probably should have been a draw, but I'll take it as it was!

Well done lads!

Now come on Worcester on monday!

In his post match interview, Argentine coach Jose Pekerman has banned his players from ever owning a dog.

They can't hold onto a lead.

Watched it in my local boozer next to Sale Rugby Club's old ground. Saw England overpower the Aussies then watched England stuff the Argies. What a day.

Must admit though, the cliental changed somewhat between the matches..sort of changed between Ralph Lauren types to JJB Autumn-sale types. Desmond Morris would have spunked his pants.

Bit lucky to win. Rooney's a star. Owen does fuck all for most for the match and scores two goals! What a player.

Great match and result for England

Persinally I thought the introduction of Joe Cole made a big difference and even Rodney Trotter (aka Crouchie) had the Argies worried.

Don't have very fond memories of that ground. :( we lost 76-0 there!

How come no-one's mentioned the real talking point of the match - Alan Shearer's meat & two veg??? Did nobody see him sitting there doing his pundit-thing, legs akimbo, with the tightest trousers known to man??? I couldn't believe it - I now have knowledge of the size & shape of Shearer's plums as intimiate as his missus. I was checking for signs of cancerous lumps. Pornographic it was. Made Sharone Stone in 'Basic Instinct' look coy and demure!!!

How many goals has Michael owen got for england now? Lineker and Charlton must be sweating now.

That arsehole Motson announced when Owen equalised that he had just broken Lineker's record for goals in competitive matches. Within a few seconds it was pointed out to him that it was a friendly.

He's now got 35 goals for England.

He'd had that suit spraypainted on. Why the fcuk did he go for a gloss finish though, could hardly see him for the glare off me telly. And did no-one think to tell him he'd put on 4st since the last time that suit was fashionable? (Ska and 2-Tone era, circa 1981).

Excellent match and result :)

On a different note, there was nowt wrong with Alan Shearer's suit. I thought he put Lineker and Hansen well in the shade with his attire. Besides he's a god and he can wear whatever he wants

Yeah, yeah....a mate's girlfriend was watching with us and she also confessed that she was getting a bit moist at the sight of Alan's glorious plums.
