1.There's a hundred better things i could be doing.

2.I always find myself trying to go in the opposite direction than a thousand other people.

3.I usually come to a conclusion that i don't actually need the thing i'm trying to buy and am wasting my valuable time and energy.

4.I find i'll buy a jacket for £80 then 2 weeks later i decide i hate it.

5.Waiting behind people.Either at the checkout or they are in the way of the place i want to get to.

6.Shopping is for girls

Stick ya material world up yer arse.I'd rather be in the pub.

Is this a confession on a dance floor Johnny!!?? I'm a proud obsessive shopper myself but I don't think I really need all those things I buy. Shopping cures depression and all, so do hairdressers, bless them!

Shopping can cure depression sometimes .I'll give it that.Retail therapy. But it's not something i make a habit of very often.

My reasons for hating shopping

1.) I often buy stuff I don't need or, in the case of Christmas shopping, stuff that no one will actually like getting.

2.) Traffic disproves the whole notion of "evolution" (some folks haven't evolved enough to master the complicated "turning signal" cocept, btw)

3.) Coming from the perspective of working in the customer-service field, I can understand how annoying it is to deal with stupid questions all day. Nevermind that I sometimes have to ask them anyway.

4.) Christmas music. In November. :headoff:

5.) Making change, and ending up with a handful of quarters and pennies when the cashier runs out of dollar bills :nono:

6.) The commercialism at the root of American capitalism that gives me the notion that I absolutely must shop. If I don't, al Qaeda wins :p

I hate shopping, because it's so expensive.

The only type of shopping I really hate is clothes shopping, because: (a) none of the trendy stuff suits me; (b) if I go with my mum and/or my sis, they always try to force me to try on things that I don't like or won't suit me; (c) everything's too expensive most of the time; (d) when I do see something I like, they don't have my size; (e) trying stuff on's a pain; and (f) the queues are just stupid.

That's why I shop from catalogues these days!

I like PSB and I like shopping! By the way, I also love Pet Shop Boys' song, "Shopping" too! "I heard it in the House of Commons, everything's for sale..." (Actually, the song itself isn't really about actual "shopping", though...)

i hate supermakets. they make me sick. i hate people who pay with their credit card (yes we still have cash here, and nobody thinks you robbed a bank if you use it), and it takes forever to be approved. I hate shpping for clothes even more. i just want to get in the shop and out as quickly as possible.

That drives me crazy as well. There was something in the news recently about a restaurant in Chicago posting a sign requesting that people keep their kids under control and people got upset over it. I love kids, I'm a teacher but people need to control their children!!

As a girl, i really should enjoy shopping but i hate it!!

If i need something i have to go alone, and i can scan a shop from 40 yards and decide whether or not it's worth me going in.

I always get people banging into me, and end up wanting to turf them over the balcony at the Trafford Centre.

Oh and i hate the Trafford Centre but am always too lazy to park up in the City Centre.

And it's Christmas coming up and i've not done any shopping and i'm beginning to get stressed about it.

Might use T'internet this year. Gotta be easier!!

stuff the Trafford Centre. only been once, and couldn't find me car when i came out. but the food hall was boss.

You need to think "mad max" and see your trolley as your weapon.

Personally it's retards standing in the middle of the aisle conversting with their trollies parked in such a way as to block the whole thing. Lose, ungagged children are another one. i actually did lose the plot one day. there was this chick, a chavette, speaking to a fellow lowlife while one of her offspring basically yelled and kicked all around even knocking stuff off shelves. the ma ignored this totally. I shoved my trolley past and said to no one in particular "shouldn't be allowed out unless they're trained, and if their parents can't be bother training them they should at least have them destroyed"

i also fucking traumatized another kid one day, it was acting up all over the place and again, mum thought this was OK. Why is it that just cos THEY ruined their lives they think I want to fucking share the horror. Anyway, it was swinging about on something and swung right into me, it was only luck that stopped the stupid little bastard swinging into my trolley. as it slid down my leg it looked up at me, and I fixed it with the best face ful of hatred I could come up with at such short notice. LOL the poor thing sort of metled, it's features all sort of disolved into a mass of tears and it sprinted for it's life. Job done, I went about my business.

Unfortunately, yes. And Tabsy, working in retail myself I also can sympathise with your annoyance over inane repetitive questions from the screaming hordes at this time of year especially the one about "can I return this after Xmas if it's not the right size/colour/blend of yak hair?" If you've got a recipt of course you fooking can, as if Xmas makes a difference to our overly lenient returns/exchange policy?

The worst instance of mega-early instore Xmas carols I've ever encountered was through the Grace Bros/Myer department store chain where I work; In the early 90's(93 or 94 I vaguely recall) they started up in mid-September:banghead:  Needless to say, even our customers were lining up to strangle the managers in Melbourne over that wonderful decision. It's only one song in three at the moment.

I'm not that bad thank $DEITY, and I WILL be ok again one day. It's just an annoying and pathetic thing to take you down, I mean really, when push comes to shove it's a skin problem, and not even a visible one. it'd better be sorted by next summer, I have some serious gigging and drinking to catch up on.

The Trafford Centre kind of freaks me out. It's a shopping mall that's trying to be something grander. I've noticed that there aren't any clocks in there too, like you're entering into some parallel shopping dimension :alien:

What I hate about shopping is the damned pram pushers. Doesn't matter if they're chavettes or cheshire sets, a woman pushing a baby around is a menace to society. Can't imagine the numbers of bruised ankles caused by them. "Out of my way scum, I've got a toddler and it's about to bloooow!"

It's not so much the pram pushers I hate as the pram not pushers. all comparing their horrid whining little shiting machines and ruining everyone else's day. It's not like kids LIKE the fucking places until they're old enough to shave/steal.

Mate of mine was a Salford U, the bastard (cos he went to FAC51 a LOT, wonder if he knew crazy lacy). And he actually nearly died in the arndale, thought he'd never get out. I always suspectde him of complicity in that bomb :)

Where is existentialism when you ride a trolley in a wide mall ?

  1. The malls in my area are crap, they're like warehouses than a posh mall. I have to go to the next nearby town to get the stuff I really want. I know what stores are going out of business without reading the Wall Street Journal.

  2. When it's the holiday season,I get headaches from breathing the same air with hundreds of other people.

  3. Some of the clothes that I really want to buy have stains on them while they are on the rack.

  4. The fitting rooms are nasty.

  5. I get eyestrain from comparing the design, patterns, and prices.

Muzak.

Also people who ring up the store and ask questions that are really hard to answer over the phone... tryibng to describe a shirt... when they should get off their butt and come into the store like the person the server is trying to help. I know because I am that server - we hate it too! I also hate shopping cause I hate my job - I hate pushy sales assistants and thats what my boss wants me to be. I actually trying to get fired cause Im too scared of my boss to quit, Ive only been there 2 weeks.

Either that or a team of stepford smilies attacks you the moment you walk in. what ever happened to....they do shopkeeper stuff and ignore you until you make known you want help, whereupon they help you as fully as possible.

Did I imagine that being the case once.

Well yes. That's a hunter gatherer neccessity.I can except that.I hate it at times but i have a corner shop just out of my back gate which is very handy.

I'm talking more about if i need some new clothes. It's such a ball ache going out and trying things on and fighting your way through the other shoppers. And fcukin shop assistants.

Was in tesco yesterday with me mum getting in some christmas food. i wen off to get something daft, and came back to find an abandoned trolley, much fuller than before. A minute later my mum appears red faced, panting and looked somewhat pleased with herself, and carrying half the butchery counter. It seems she'd be fortunate enough to be pondering the reduced to clear meats, just as a tesco gimp arriveed with about 4 pigs 2 cows and 40 chickens to add to the pile. So basically, she suddenylfound herself underneath the pile of fighting harpies. She musta got about 50 quid worth of meat for a tenner, good freezer fodder, but even, watching grown, respectable women clawing and gouging to get at the clearnace stock was pretty terrifying. Oddest thing tho, it was all the rich bitches with the expensive clothes and jewlery who were fighting hardest and dirtiest. I felt like saying "you fuck off down to M+S ya bastards that stuff's for tramps like us"

It really is incredible to watch when they show on the news, every boxing day, a store opening it's doors for the big sale. And there's a gaggle of hundreds of women practically killing each other to get in the door and grab whatever they can.Fascinating to watch. And bloody hillarious , too:rofl:
