I think it'll come down to how hard it tries if yu see what I mean, if it overdoes it, it'll get real tedious real fast :D

It's a good show.. that's why it's on over there so quickly. That's always a good sign. If it doesn't take 2 or 3 years for you to get the first series it means it's good. It's only been on a couple months!

I've seen it a few times and it's grown on me, but I know too many people like Earl in my personal life (none of whom know anything about "karma"), and Jason Lee has never been my favorite actor. So it's docked a few points for that. But all in all, it's decent 
I do like the NBC version of The Office that follows it at 9:30

The first time I saw the UK original's first series, Ricky Gervais almost ruined it for me. 
But I like both about equally well now, never mind all the haters on the Internet Movie Database's "Office" messageboards (sidenote: why put so much time and effort into bashing something? Just say it sucks and move on).

Scranton is the perfect setting for the US version. That's what made it.. IMHO

They are probably all American apologists who walk around speaking in forced anglosisms and go on and on about how every good show is on the BBC (even when most of the shows they are talking about are on Chan 4 or ITV) and there is no such thing as good American music....
and blah blah blah.
I want to pack all these assholes up and make them live in an estate on Moss Side and then tell me how much better England is than the US.
I love England and I loved living and working there...but I'm from Philly--not a pleasant place, so I'm used to it.

What??? I like the UK version better. I think it being set in Scranton is great for the US version.. and I hate anglophiles who'll eat shit because it came from a british asshole.. but I never said that the US version was better :D

I am going to make a film called "the life of tom cruise" about how he pays 4 yr olds to have sex with him,slits kittens open and fucks the wounds, and organized the WTC attacks. just to see how he likes what he did to WotW done to him....did anyone see ANYTHING to do with H.G.Wells in tat load of warm puke.

Coming from someone who loves, loves, loves Monty Python, the Beatles, NO (of course), Nick Hornby, the Sex Pistols, etc...there's good stuff from the UK, and then there's Cliff Richard. So it's a crapshoot, really. :p
I've grown to like Gervais and the rest of the UK Office, but the NBC show is a good one.
Well i watched it and it was ok. Not exactly roll on the floor funny but certainly watchable. Think it might get better though.
Best bit: Earls brother reeling a gay man in for a dance!
yeah, a fine way to spend a little time, rather amusing.....don't think I'd cry if i missed it tho.
maybe i should download the rest of the series to give you advance warning Jem :D
