(Seasonal Affective Disorder)

I think this is the real reason why everyone's being arsey with each other. It's January, anti-climax after Christmas, Credit Card bills due and nothing to look forward to for ages (unless you're going MEN of course).

So, BE NICE!

isn't there a book issued by psychologists called the MDMA er something like that where SAD is a bonafide disorder? Is this real? It's likely that no one knows what the hell I'm talking about. Anyway, does anyone here live in the extreme Northern Hemisphere and is SAD a common situation amongst you or is it just called life?

I have been feeling the affects of SAD. I'm glad it's sunny today, but apparently there isn't enough.

I have a full spectrum light next to my bed that I read by. It is supposed to replicate the full color spectrum of the sun. It hasn't solved my general discontent but has improved my vision. Does anyone else have one of these? How do people North of The Arctic Circle get along? I've heard that they have facilities with full spectrum lights, work out rooms, entertainment areas etc.

I have S.A.D. too, but it only acts up four times a year. Winter, spring, summer and fall.

it's THE WINTER OF DISCONTENT at NOOL.:(

S.A.D is a recognized medical condition .I usually start going under, around the end of October.

For the first couple of days of January i'm all perky for some reason. Then the middle of January hits and reality dawns.

Read yesterday that January 12th is the day more people dump or get dumped by their partners than any other day of the year. It's the day when it dawns that the Christmas holiday is over and it's time to have a clear out, reassess.

Growing up we were just miserable Scots. Now apparently we had a disorder.

Pissing down here in the NE USA just like back home. Beats 2 feet of snow and -20C I guess.
