I am not digging through a thousand threads. I may not know as much about the subject as you but when I hear news reports of women being executed for adultry I question the executions. When I hear about teachers being killed in Afghanistan for teaching girls I question the motives and beliefs of the killers. When I see photos of the Danish embassy in flames because of a political cartoon I question the arsonist and protestors. Feel free to disagree but do not burn my embassy. As you should, because the punishment for adultery in Islam is NOT execution. But do the people carrying out these executions know this? I doubt they can even read.

Chapter 24: Verse 2 of the Islamic holy book clearly defines the punishment for adultery - A public ass whooping for both parties involved, after being found guilty in a court of law. No discrimination between the male or the female. It is NOT a death sentence. And this punishment is only carried out if they do not repent.

I"m not up on my Bible study, but I'm pretty sure in the Book of Leviticus also follows a similar punishment, including death. It's all a matter of the fanatic, uneducated masses following a trend or a political leader who claims they are changing their poverty-ridden nation for the better.

nice to hear from someone who doesn't base his or her entire knowledge of a religion on CNN or the local newspaper. or on a misleading website.

I was in an internet cafe yesterday, looking at the Behind Closed doors page. Alas this thread title was clearly showing. It didn't just catch my eye but that of the normally frindly chap who runs said establishment. He's an African Muslim. He looked from my PC to me and gave me a rather cold stare. Good news is, I'm still alive.

Now someone a few pages back was having a pop at Irish Catholics. Well as I'm one of those, i trust whoever it was is prepared for a slicing sensation to their neck very soon. If I can be bothered to click back a few pages and find em. This thread is getting a bit long y'know!
