She said gay and poor women as well as women of color were poisoning the women's movement, taking it away from the mainstream white women whining about how "oh we wish we could work" while poor and overwhelming numbers of women of color never had the choice not to work.

She was bigotted and close minded. She is one of the biggest reasons for the split in 2nd wave feminism and why the 3rd wave is such rubbish.

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but what she's given the movement she's also taken away from it.

Can you explain the split in second wave feminism? And what you mean when you say third wave feminism is rubbish?

Not disputing you, just uninformed...
