all i'm saying that it really doesn't matter what you believe in. if someone becomes obsessed by it, then a memeber, of many a group can become a terrorist. We really need something from the Agent here. as a matter of fact, if i wasn't of such a peaceful dispostion, then there'd be a few less people alive now. including me most likely.

well who knows why they ban some sites. new order.net was banned as well. i figured it would only be a matter of time before they did the same with this site, but that was two years ago. perhaps they use nool to post coded messages, who knows.

Nope sorry, gotta disagree with you there Ron old chap.... non violent fundies are still scum, they hold society back and waste time constantly trying to influence events to be in accordance with the fairies. (or rather in accorance with their own facist view of whatever fairy story they claim to hold dear)

as long as they practise they own particular brand of fundism in private, don't try and convert me, and obey the laws of the land, then i have no real problem with them. all part of living in a free western country. everybody is free to believe what they like.

What's the point of having a faith if you're not going to be serious about it? What does it mean to be a fundamental anything?
If Jesus was on earth today in physical form he'd be hanging out with whores and junkies on street corners showing them that he cares.
Look at Mother Teresa - she gave up everything to serve other people, the dying and the poor. You don't get much more fundamental than that.
People claim that religion causes wars but it strikes me that it is people's misinterpretation of religion that causes problems. I would hazard a guess to say that most of the world's major religions don't advocate the kind of violence and hate that we see.
Take for example the "God hates fags" website. Actually the only fundamental thing about this statement is that it is fundamentally wrong. God hates sin, not the sinner.
Look at the facts as they are in the bible: God loves all people and does not wish anyone to perish. Check out for yo'selves John 3 v16 and 2 Peter 3 v9.
HATE is a strong word 1 John v 20 says if anyone says "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar.
Perhaps if people were fundamental about their faith rather then twisting it to suit their own agendas the world would be a better place.
By the way I'm not trying to impose my faith on anyone - i'm just trying to illustrate my point.

I was watching TV last night; there was a fundamentalist televangelist on asking for donations, in exchange for which he would pray for your prosperity. I flipped him the bird and told him to fuck off. Why? Because I'm anti-Christian?
No, I flipped him the bird because he was going against the teachings of Jesus, who said "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven." Now that doesn't mean, to me, that financial security is a bad thing. What it does mean is that Jesus wasn't about gaining financial security, or even healing your physical afflictions (even though he did heal people). Jesus was about your relationship with God, and with your fellow man, and when I see that distorted by these lying fucks, it pisses me off. I believe, based on his interactions with the moneychangers, he wouldn't be too happy about it either.
Same with "God Hates Fags." The ONLY thing Jesus ever said remotely connected to the subject was when he told the mob that was about to stone a woman for adultery, "Let he among you who is without sin cast the first stone." When the mob dissipated, he said "If they will not judge you, then neither shall I" (paraphrase, I'm sure). That's it. No judgmental "love the sinner, hate the sin" crap. No "Matthew Shepard is burning in hell" crap. Just love and forgiveness. Compassion. He told her to go in peace, and sin no more, but that was it. And what did he have to say about gays? Nothing. Not a word. So maybe it's implied because of all that old testament stuff... Except when he was asked, he said there are two commandments: Love God, and love your neighbor. That's it. No "Persecute the fags" crap. So when I see "Christians" (and let's face it, they're not really "Christians"-- they're "Paulians") persecuting gays in Jesus' name, I wanna tear them a new one-- in Jesus' name.
So what did he have to say about these judgmental religious types? "You worry about the speck in your neighbor's eye, and ignore the plank in your own" (paraphrase again).
Says it all, really.

We should take that one with a very large grain of salt, though. The source is the Tamil News Service, and they're reporting on Sinhalese nationalism. There's intense guerilla warfare in Sri Lanka because the Tamils want their own state, separate from the Sinhalese... or something.
It may have happened, but I don't trust the neutrality of the source, so one large grain of salt for me, for now.
I'll try to find more later.
