i don't think that shirt was referring to capital punishment.
Was it Hobbes that argued in Leviathan that only God has the right to take a life, not you or the state? But I tend to agree Farrell that "some people should die." Not for deterence of crime but as a punishment, the total rejection of that person who has violated the very essence of society. I am thinking J W Gacey, Hitler, ect.

wouldn't it be much greater puishment to be depived of one's freedom for teh rest of one's life, than to go to where we will all go, although much quicker.
i know it would drive me batty not being able to go out and what i want when i want, even with all the facilities in gaols these days, i think i'd go crazy within a month.

ok the hitler, sadam, stalin category. i could be persuaded there.
i should add but only after a fair trial. justice has to be seen to be done. no victor justice.

Put em a very small cell totally isolated from others. No basketball, no weight room, no cable tv, no Jerry Springer, no gangs to join ect. Allow the family to visit once a year. No visits from celebrities. Medical examinations every month. Keep em healthy. It's prison not summer camp.
Fair trial, of course. Higher standards for capital cases. Ultra Beyond Reasonable Doubt. We all know that too many, far too many cases in the US are set ups. Too many innocent people imprisoned and sentenced.

Posh Spice?
Actually I'd rather she were whipped every 20 mins and rolled in hot salt, for the rest of life (about 20 mins probably).
(ahhhhh pleasant thoughts to get me through the night)

Well, maybe on that case..;) Just remembered that an enterprising person in this area has made quite a bit o' pocket change by printing up Ted Bundy Was A Husky shirt, playing on the often nasty rivalry between Washington and Oregon.

but he was a clown! bringing joy to the kids and all. how could you kill a clown? :(

Keeping life sentances in jail is a drain on our society. The money it costs could be put to better uses. Screw if it deters crime, why make a murder/molester/rapist drain our systems when they are screwed up. Kill 'em and be done with it. Old folks need Medicare.
