Scams on ebay

Anyone ever come across this?

I was on ebay earlier looking at satnavs. Ive seen this before with ipods and stuff. You get some offered Buy it now`, really cheap, usually located in China. The advert looks professionally done, but if you check the feedback of the seller, they will always have a score of 12 (for some reason), all the users who have left the seller feedback will also have 12, and they all have the same comments written, in bad English. They all tend to have recently ceased there accounts as well. Its an obvious scam, but i wonder how many people fall for it..?

Also had loads of fake ebay emails, where the link isnt an ebay adress, but the page looks like a geniune ebay one. When you click it, it asks for username and password, if you type in some shit like jkgh uitg (obviously you dont put your real one in) it will come up with welcome back jkgh uitg and asks you to verify your credit card number, issue number and PIN NUMBER!! Again, you have to wonder how many they get.

I'll tell you what REALLY gets on my fucking tits on ebay at the minute.

Once upon a time you could search for "goods located in the UK"........but now if you try it (even using the "withing n miles of $PLACE" option) you get all sorts of crap from all over the world, saying things like "Bejing UK" and "Singapore UK". And if you complain to ebay or report the listings as fraudulant, you get this ASTONISGHINGLY retarded reply saying, that it's all to do with it being "available to the UK".....well gues what, I KNOW the difference between the "located in" and "available to" search options, and the ebat reply makes a nonsense of having the 2 options.....and if you point that out.....silence.

I have a feeling they can be gotten rid of on account of lying about postage options (you cannot send via royal mail from fucking Guatamala). But i've lost heart with ebay over the whole thing and can't be arsed with a fight.

Something similar to that - i was looking for a Golf GTI. Search returned loads of headers like XR3i - Not Golf GTi, AX GT etc. Yeah and not what im looking for either you bellend!!

Ebay is shite. Only problem is, there's nothing else like it. Wish somebody would give the wankers some competition.

I haven't got a clue about how to do it. But then again, neither does Ebay.

The problem with Ebay is a recurring one.

When it started, it was frequented mainly by the clueful....people who were...."up on" all this online shopping malarky. But, as it's become popular, and the more seasoned ebayers told their mates of it's bounty.....as every thumbless cunt with an AOL address signed up for it...it's turned into scam and fuckwitt central.

The same thing happens to all sorts of stuff....thank God NO are never gonna be THAT popular :D

I'm the man who proves you need be no programming god to use Linux....I can write bash scripts to open and close the DVD drawer and play an amusing sound effect, and call them spit and swallow......but that's about it :D

True, scam and fuckwit central. One big minus. The second big minus is trying to have some sort of intelligent communication with Ebay.

A relative has been selling things on ebay and via LOOT, and keeps getting the twats who offer to pay by cheque but want to send a cheque for a larger amount than the cost and want him to send cash back for the difference.

Apparently some idiots actually fall for this (the cheque will bounce, obviously). People who fall for the more obvious scams are a pain, as they encourage the scammers to then waste everybody else's time by trying it on again and again. Same for those who send money to Nigerian 'help me launder money' scammers.

a mate of mine is planning a website were you SWAP tickets. i.e. you might have a spare depeche ticket and want to see editors as well so might get swap for your spare. like saturday swap shop for tickets.investors would be welcome. opps,i hope he's pattened it
