That's nice, he's not allowed to post but his birthday still goes up here!

Is it really over three years since the lad last logged on?!

Times flies when you're, er, 'avin' fun!

Jack and others who don't know/forgot.

Julio is the legendary "Brazilian Postman" who claims not to have received parcels and causes all kinds of trouble badmouthing people and besmirching reputations, yet still manages to list the CDs he never received and manages to trade them on!

He got banned from posting here (he still visits nearly every day to read threads) for consistanly and constantly abusing fellow NOOLers, and for cheating in the first Community competition, when he sent in someone else's recording and claimed it as his own.

Has a neat line in abuse on WIM, where you will find him posting as Uncle Bernard, and also on JD Central, where he posts as JumoFi.

He's probably not all that bad in real life (and wasn't when I met him in the Worlds End before the Finsbury gig in 2002), but is far too overenthusiastic on here, and feels he has to invent stuff to compete (not that there is any need at all to compete).

Oh, and his copies of CDs are awful, as if done boombox to boombox rather than in-line :evil4:

Don't see why the lad can't post again. He's obviously got New Order at heart. Interesting considering that the next tranche of gigs they'll perform will be in his homeland too. I mean, he flew to Finsbree all the way from Brazil. How many Brits are gonna repay the compliment this year around?!

If he's really not been here for three years, then that's longer than you get for some heinous crimes in this country nowadays. I'm sorry, but cheating in Community ain't a major offence to me. It might've been harsh at the time, but that was a long, long time ago. And dissing and namecalling other onliners is just part and parcel of this forum these days, surely, and not exactly a sackable offence.

But that's just my opinion.

part and parcel

That was the root of the problem, the parcels we all had to send him twice.

However as Al said 3 years is a long time as long as you get for denying the holocoust !

If he sends me acopy of the Maracanazinho 88 gig, I will welcome him back :thumb:

I agree let him back in.

Maybe someone should start a free Julio thread?:thumb:

Which you're entitled to, but sometimes it goes deeper than simple name calling. I made a very innocuous comment about him once which was met with a volley abusive e-mails, really over the top stuff, to my work address...

After having to do some quick talking to stop myself being dismissed on the spot (I think I would have been had I been silly enough to reply), I then had to convince them not to get the police involved.

I won't be forgetting that in a hurry.

You weren't alone in getting this sort of shite, OB. Quite simply, if he comes back, I go.

Which still amounts to little more than namecalling, surely?! Which you, I would have thought, seeing that I actually know you, are well above. Julio, to the best of my knowledge, has never even met you, has he? So any abuse from that corner should've been laughable, at best. And very misguided.

I know someone here who DID get the police involved with another individual from this site, and unfortunately that party is still very much mercurial here although I personally think he's a dickhead, and the first individual, sadly, no longer posts, but it doesn't stop me coming here.

I don't see that someone can be barred from a site because he's dished out abuse off-line. I wasn't aware of that so can't make judgements from what may, or may not happened, without us seeing. At the end of the day, I've posted here from the day dot and don't have an issue with Julio. Although, I could happily name one or two individuals who still post here who I would happily take the face off giving the right opportunity and should I be in a particularly bad move at that time, but last thing I do is stamp my feet and moan to other people.

At the end of the day, this effectively amounts to little more than bullying. Well done, boys.

If Mike can be made a temporary mod, I don't see why Julio can't be given a licence to post again. Not that he's ever appeared and said he wants to, so it's perhaps churlish of people to feel they need to cnut him off three years after what may, or may not, have happened.

It's quite simple Al, if I unban him, Tim, Ricardo and almanso all said they would leave this website.

So we must have lost many things in the portugese forum so both moderators can't stand him!!

So I'd rather keep 3 moderators than giving Julio a 3rd chance right now... he knows he'd have to fix things with the 3 before even being allowed.

Tim got his own 2nd chance, and well, he did pretty well....

Interesting :evil4:

Only person I know on this website that can cause that much trouble is Sebastien... another case of people with multiple personality disorder... total different person online and offline, trust me ;)

He did send lawyers letter to David Sultan's ISP for copyrights on the NOOL design replicated at WorldInMotion, and, well, he did have an interesting story of sending some stupid website to Jonathan Scott that almost caused a nuclear meltdown ;)

So there is worst?

Spotnick wrote: ... he knows he'd have to fix things with the 3 before even being allowed.

I'm post- postman so only know what I've read here. One thing that's clear to me is that Nic has been consistent in his explaination of the conditions for this guy's return. If there's a way back, it's via an apology being accepted by a few people, no? Has Julio even attempted to apologise or make amends? Is there any evidence that he would be better behaved if allowed back?

Well Colin, Julio does chat with me from time to time, he does know about this... he needs to make a public appology for cheating in Community, and he needs to sort things with those 3 people.

He knows that for almost 2 years now, and I have not heard of anything about this, although I thought Tim sorted things about the postal issues...

Let's say he had issues in the past, he asked Sebastien to f**k himself when Sebastien warned him about spamming the forums with his trade list, that was strike 1, then the Community thing was strike 2... I'm willing to give him another chance, but he would have to do the things I asked, and obviously he didn't after all this time, so I don't think it's going to happen.

As far as I know, he was still denying cheating on Community until he replied to the Community 2 press release on WorldInMotion's forums ;)

As I said, that seems clear enough to me.

And reasonable.

The wee man will be pissing himself that he has been mentioned on the site again and causing so much grief without actually being here!!!

If he apologised for all those he offended (and they accepted) - I'd be happy to see him back, as long as he promised not to beg for every fucking video or CD boot I mention in other threads! :D

You're being a little hard on me there, mate. I'm not trying to bully or slag anyone off. All I'm saying is that sometimes stuff that you would consider harmless in the virtual world, (like some laughable rantings from someone on the other side of the world that you've never met) can spill over into the real world - with very real consequences.

If he were to come back, he'd just join that small list of posters that I'd use the 'ignore' button on, if such a facility existed around here.

Old Blue wrote: You're being a little hard on me there, mate. I'm not trying to bully or slag anyone off.

I'm not being hard on you as an individual, but collectively. I made an innocuous comment about Julio and everyone's there telling me how bad he is.

I personally don't have an issue with him. Although there are people here I genuinely do have issues with. I wouldn't try to get anyone barred though.

Seeing as we're dragging up past history, Tim's been BANNED from this site, and was still allowed back. Pot. Kettle.

And the Community thing cuts no mustard with me whatsoever, I'm sorry to say. What 'Community' exactly?! The only people from here I knew on the last offering were Tim's lot. I didn't know Cambo had been involved until recently. It's not like it was regular posters being involved, or people we know from concerts, so it's not something I find particularly galling that someone cheated on it.

You two conducted quite a war of words though. And it was his website.

As I said earlier, I don't know if Julio even wants to come back here, but it was you - as a moderator of this forum - who started this thread, which as I've already said is very nearly tantamount to bullying. You're using this forum to have a pop at someone you don't like and who's got no right of reply. Bit black and white, but that's the way it looks from where I'm sitting.

I started the thread to genuinely wish him a happy birthday in the spirit of glasnost, similar to my agreeing to have a beer with Brian when he's over here shortly. No ulterior motives, and certainly not bullying.

It was only when various new people asked who Julio was that several people chipped in with fond remembrance. I don't hold grudges against anyone, but you only have to see his persistant antagonism on WIM to see that he is not prepared to let bygones be bygones, in fact is keen to perpetuate ill-feeling.
