Most of the content of this site, including threads and individual posts, can be googled and can often crop up on search engines generally, and where you least expect it.

For your own sake as well as the general well-being of the community, please do not post anything on here that you wouldn't want anyone else to be able to see against your name - you never know who may google you!

And remember, we don't do racism, sexism, homophobia or personal abuse on here. We do take the piss, but don't do to others what you can't handle done to yourself.

has it ever been mooted to make the forums only viewable by logged on members?

my friend recently googled me and said my posts came up. My honesty has been compromised and sometimes have to censor myself. This is why i recently deleted posts on the vices thread. I wish something would be done about the posts be able to be searched.

well i don't have my real full name anywhere on here in my profile so it won't show up on Google

I wouldn't worry about google....it cannot even find thread I KNOW exists here.....for instance the "middle names" thread...I went looking for that cos I guessed Jem's first time and wanted to make sure it wasn't just latent memory....but according to the google-powered search box on the left there....no such thread

Not sure it would be a good idea to be honest... many people here are lurkers...

I can, however, substract the forums from Google.. but that doesn't mean other search engines will do the same.

So, keep your nickname private :p

Worst part could be... if your boss logs here and see you post on work hours

All my work mates and the boss visit nool but never forums, just the news page for info. :)

I remember once one of them asked me what my nickname on nool was but I never told, hee hee

If he could be arsed, he'd easily find me now cause they all call me Cruella anyway, haha
