thieves! :p
Woodsy, I'm pretty sure my facts are right. UNC is the first public university in the States, and I take pride in it.

Yeah, the Duke/LSU game was nothing compared to that one (for some reason Comcast here has been broadcasting a different signal for the CBS affiliate here on another channel, I spent quite a bit of time watching that one over the Dukies).
Almost a day later, and I still can't believe Gonzaga lost last night, almost as much as Adam Morrison. They just totally had that victory literally ripped from their hands, I'm still not sure whether to attribute that to the Zags choking or the Bruins resiliency. Yes, fans on the Zags board were just a wee bit ornery today, as one might imagine.

columbia's not a public university, though.
UNC's a damn good school. you should take pride in it!
Nice to see UConn go down, and for George Mason get to the Final Four©, before the tourney started I'd totally forgotten where they were located.
Definitely one of the most contested, hence best, affairs ever. If Florida beats Nova, all of the number one seeds'll be gone; can't remember if that's happened before, if ever.

George Mason is in Fairfax, Va...about 15-20 miles from The Verizon Center in DC. So that was a home game for them.
Cinderella has her slipper for sure!!
George Mason has the DC area buzzing with it's miracle run. May be the the biggest Cinderella team in tournament history, underdogs on top- go Mason!
JJ Redick never did win a championship at Duke and never really understood the bashing he received from all the non-Duke fans. He's a phenominal shooter.
Just wanted to point out that with the Gators convincing win, my perfect final four made it in. I am projecting an all SEC final, LSU vs UF.
Boy, the Big East and the ACC tanked this year!
One last Go Gators!

Simple-who hates Duke? EVERYONE!!!
so the top player on their team is Public Enemy #1...
tho I coulda lived without The "Brokeback Reddick" chants
and Terp fans at Maryland going "F*** You JJ!! CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP "F*** You JJ!!"
I HATE JJ and Duke but that is just over the line

Yeah, not a fan of Duke or the Terps but it does seem people get on the ridicule-Reddick-bandwagon little too much, don't ever remember Grant Hill, Laetner, Hurley, or any other Dukees getting that much fan abuse.

we have the typical 'how many people does it take to screw in a lightbulb' jokes in the ivy league conference. princeton's is as follows:
Q: how many princeton students does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: two. one to mix the martinis and one to call the electrician.
'nuff said.
I have to admit that J.J. Redick is a terrific shooter as well, but he is also the reason why my school loses sometimes.

I went to school with a girl who is a direct descendant of Alexander Graham Bell and whose dad ran the National geographic for eons. Also a long line of Princeton Alums!!
went to high school at a private school somehow

that joke is dead on-I actually had to work to get a college degree-imagine that!
Thank the makers that Texas bowed out...
I don't think I could stand this town with another national championship...
I should just move back to Dallas...or College Station...
Granted this morning the greater Washington DC Mtero region is in the grips of Mason Mania
they made the front page of "The washington Post" and are the talk of a lot of folks
In this age of overblown salaries, overripe egos, and lowered expectations-George Mason is what makes sports FUN
there are many great players, like JJ Reddick, Adam Morrison and others-but most of us will never be that great.
The Mason guys could have sat on the bench at larger schools but they went where they were wanted...
Sure we see this in movies and literature all the time "Hoosiers" and "Rocky" for example. It is is real and that is the remarkable part-and yes they are that good.
thee main CBS TV college basketball, anaylyst, Billy Packer was so disgusted sith Goerge mason making the field of 65 that he held up their schedule on live TV and asked who had they beaten?
lets see. Michigan State, North Carolina, and UConn (who may thought would take it all)
Hey Billy-how 'bout them apples?
Will Mason go any further?-I dunno but I figure "Mason Nation" will be rather large next weekend
damn this is a fun ride. Just don't lose that slipper, honey!!

Well, I'm a Duke fan, but I'm not one of those who gush about how "perfect" Coach K is, that's for sure, the whole Pete Gaudet situation in 95 left me scratching my head.
I started watching a lot of Duke basketball the year they got blown out by UNLV, I just loved the way Bobby Hurley played, and players like Grant Hill and Shane Battier were a joy to watch as well. Plus, there's a bit of local connection to Duke: Mike Dunleavy was from here, I liked watching him play in high school, and it looks like the top two players now in Oregon might head there: Ed Singler and Kevin Love (son of Stan Love , ex-NBAer, and related to the Beach Boys clan, etc). Only reason they're not going to Oregon is cause our head coach is such a fcukin' idiot.
Anyhoo, I enjoyed the George Mason game immensely, loved the pic of the woman in the crowd holding up a golden slipper. GM played some great ball on both sides, glad they found a way to rally in OT. I'll be pulling for them most of all, but it's not like I hate any of the other teams.
I like what Florida coach Billy Donovan said: Play this tournament again, and we'd almost certainly have four different teams in the Final Four. Can't wait for the weekend, should be a perfect cap to a memorable tourney.
The only thing I don't like about Duke basketball is the amount of publicity it gets. I mean, Coach K was in a car commercial last year. I wonder how he will hold up in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
shame about christian laettner, though. he had so much potential and now he's faded into the background. i know he was miserable when he was drafted to the timberwolves and didn't give it 100% or even 75%. all the glory went to shaq from that class of 1992.
