Just got back.I'll have to type more because I've lost my voice.The best gig they've done since the Devotional tour. Highlights Everything Counts,Never Let Me Down on their 2nd encore!,an acoustic version of Shake The Disease,Enjoy The Silence and Just Can't Get Enough.Good set too! They have this big "ball thing" on stage with a message scroller,reminiscent of a US Ball-game,and the keyboards look like saucers out of Mars Attacks. Liam,sorry I didn't get to see you mate.And SPAM!
oh god no, a m8 of mine went tot the same gig and hes of to birmy tmrw ill never hear the end of it.
last i heard of SPAM,he was drinking large havana clubs after gig.i expect he'll post when sobered up 
I never had Monty down as a fudge packer 
I used to work with a DM fan who followed them everywhere. Cool guy actually, didnt get his contract renewed coz he told his boss to fuck off 
I dont think I'd have called him a fudge packer to his face though

Catching them tonight in Birmingham..then Sunday AND Monday at Wembley in London!

Yes, a superb gig. Met a lovely chap called Ross who posts on here now and again.
Bit of a slow start to the gig, picked up loads after Martin sang Home. Spent most of the early part of the gig trying, and failing to get Fletch to give us a wave. He did look at us mind. Obvious highlight was Enjoy The Silence, and Never Let me Down Again, and a special mention for Behind The Wheel.
Superb gig, and definitley going to see them in Hyde Park, and might now put a little bit of extra effort to get to benicassim.
If they came round these parts (upstate NY) I may go venture a visit, but I wouldn't drive to Chicago like I did for the Order, mind...maybe in their hayday 83-90, but I honestly haven't liked much that they have done since Violator (even though "John the Revalator" and "Precious" from their new one are fantastic)

Depeche Mode are a great band, in my opinion.
Can't wait to see them in June. I take it they played material off "Playing the Angel" first.

Only 5 songs I think (they opened with 2 off PTA) but I have no idea which ones cause I'm not that fond of their new CD.
Looks like it was the same setlist in every European city.
I'm very much looking forward to Monday - (though I haven't been to Wembley A since 93 on the second half of the devotional tour - sound was shite) - I'm really not that fussed for the new stuff, but am just listening to their San Jose gig from december and it is quality. They are a top band. What is slightly amusing is that Gahan always uses the same 'ad-libs' - "I can't hear you"! ;) Always has as far as I can make out.

you missed my point i thinks,my m8 is absolutely obbsessed with the mode,going to all the uk dates ect and we will get a song by song account of each gig lol,get my drift now. that said i think that the mode have deffo had their moments song wise an as a band also.

nor did i.i've now come round again but still on havana club dink excellent gig last nite. thought the stage was set up a treat sorry we didn't get to meet up monty would ave been nice to meet a few more faces. respect was number one for me last nite hope they enjoy it in brum tonite as much.
i haven't bothered with any of their albums since songs of faith and devotion, so i hope their new stuff pases my aural test.
saw them a few months back on the PTA tour... not too shabby. although, no "shake the disease"
those UFO things looked ridiculous...

I think PTA is far better than SOFAD. There are more synths and less pretentious religious lyrics. Unfortunately, the best track off the album, "Lillian," has not been done live.

Have yuo ever seen them live?> For your information, Dave GaHan performed a song I requested at the concert. Damn, I'm still astounded how I can speak today - cos I shouted so loud. Jeez, my leather jacket was wet as a shark. I got my IJCE. Ahhhhhhhhhh. Plus he thew his spit on us.

everytime i've seen them, they've done "just can't get enough." it is about time they think about packin' that tired piece of fluff away.
and PTA is still sittin' on me funny... but it took me three years to think halfway descent thoughts about ultra, which is a pretty neat record when you soak it in.
still, no matter what, Some Great Reward will always be top in my mode-book.
