Wemb-er-lee now not open til 2007

Multiplex have just announced to the Aussie Stock Exchange that the new Wembley Stadium will not be open til 2007.

The FA is expected to announce no football there til SEPTEMBER 2007!!!

Then it'll be 2008, Gawwd! Wembley, Shwembly...Cardiff's beautiful,keep the cup finals there for me.

They are yup... but houses cost 4x down South as opposed to North.. I know a lass in Sunderland who recently bought her 4 bed house for £72k, but in my borough you wouldn't pay less than £400k.

And the poor buggers on the set minimum wage down here, (i.e. same as up north) do not have a chance i suspect.

it is a good time to be a property owner. prices may have soften a bit here, but my house is still worth close to half a million of our dollars. personally i wouldn't spend more than $300.000 on it. Defo overvalued, but what can you do. that's what low interest rates have done. i dread the day when rates rise substantially, not for me as i actually own this place, but for all those people who have over comitted themselves.

that's the market for you. supply and demand. although it would be a good case to start investing a bit more in the north.

Headline of the 'Evening Standard' today is 'Wembley is Sinking'.

Apparently it is rumoured to be suffering from severe subsidence. Sounds like we might end up with a ground not unlike the one at Yeovil, where the ball literally rolls downhill into the net unaided.

Bets are now on for it to be completed in time for the 2012 Olympics.
