I'm in New Mexico and West Texas: desert (WORKS NOW)

Here are some pics I made on my trip to the West Texas desert that goes all the way to New Mexico and breaks into Guadelupe Mountains.

Northern texas is a hard drive to take. Long and boring, but New Mexico is definately beautiful once you start seeing the plateaus.

which roads are you taking to New Mexico?

Basically 62/180 or 285 if you're coming from Texas to South-East of New Mexico.

That's a little lower than when I travel through / visited. I went through on the 40 (the old route 66) when making a cross country trip. You making it up that high or are you staying low? What's the reason for going to New Mexico (if I may ask)? JHC

I went particularly to see the desert areas around Kermit, TX - and that's 25 miles from the New-Mexican border, - I decided therefore to pay a visit to that state, since it was so close - why not, it's exciting to be in a new state - I'd never been there before, plus I really wanted to see how far that desert went. I turned 5 miles short of Carlsbad to south, to Pine Springs, TX (Guadelupe Mts).

Are the pics visible now? Coz I see them.

:) I bet they are, Jeff, but physically I couldn't see everything within one day. I spent 14 hours out, of which 12.5 hours were merely driving. I managed to go on that trip on my single day-off. Now I know where to go straight next time

They really are gorgeous photo's though, i always thought it would be a really bland landscape.
