Ness shook her head, looked mournfully at the floor and said: "Martin, you have no idea".

Reading this thread, I now belatedly understand her point.

:D

I assume that was whilst she adorned the Viking head gear!!!

Well, how politics can rear it's ugly head in a forum such as this puzzles me.

I do like those opal fruit things though.

Don't make that mistake! I once dated someone almost solely because of their New Order interest - I lived to regret it (yes I was desperate at the time!) :evil4:

Jelly babies are the universal sign of unexpectedly goodwilled silliness. And in addition, nobody truly evil ever eats jelly babies!!! U learn a lot watching Dr Who

a much more grown up theme I think, sweeties and kid's tv shows.

Ahhh if only I were as wise as you Ness :D

Question, could you date someone who loathed NO? (you can't have been that desperate or you'd not have bothered that he liked any type of music ;) )

Steve Campbell wrote: i'm not even in the same league as angry yet, but you are trying really rather hard. Maybe yer just having a wee laugh and I'm helping out by hanging on to the bait without even needing a hook, but it winds my watch a treat....cos I have been in a little cell for 2 years, and in the latter part of that time only 2 of my mates ( both female FWIW ) came visiting (when they didn't want something), and owing to that there are maybe 3 people from this site 1 I've met, 1 I haven't and 1 I may never meet, who count among my best friends. And that's the funny thing about this daft row we keep getting into. At the end of the day the kind of things that friends talk about, work very well via email, not perfectly that's for sure, but quite well. You share laughs, tell each other cool stuff, and talk about shit things that are going on in yer lives. Meeting people is nice, as Bonz puts it, it makes them real, but it's not essential unless it's more than a friend you want I suppose. I'll grant you it's entirely possible I could meet up with someone from NOOL at a gig, someone I thought was a mate and "my kind of person", and take one look in their eyes and run a mile.

Strewth. You and me are just very different people, Cambo. You've banged on here about having 3 best friends from this site blah blah blah like it's the most unique thing in the world. Really, it isn't. Although banging on about it - as you are wont to do on occasion - is rather unique. And you don't need to give a background account of events leading up to why this is so important to you either. Really, hold something back for once. Leave a little mystery for us all, eh?!

Realistically I would have to say yes, but it would be hard. Instead I ended up with someone who knew nothing about them and didn't own one item of music.

A vacuous musical cavity which I filled by a gradual drip-drip of NO, JD took a while longer of course!

Raised what exactly?! Asked you give a plotted history of your life thus far and who your best friends are?!

I think not.

Christ, you're annoying.

You're so LUCKY! Ness used your name AND did the mounful look at the floor at the same time?

The best I ever got was when she smiled at me when I was talking a picture of her. And she never uses my name!

(That's 'cos she always calls me Biggy  )

The thing is, the conversation was about the pressure to stay a Viking or "defect" to Barney's Angels. Obviously, if you'd been considering the latter I would have had to step aside for a "quiet word".

Vikings,Angels,Shedders..More firms here than in Scilly it seems, and the Mods are like the FBI:laugh:

Admitt it,everyone likes a bit of needle just for needle's sake. NOOL is certainly not immune from tribal tendancies. You have to conclude its human nature sometimes. Starts off as one all encompassing New Order party then some split off to form the Lib Dems or the UKIP party!..Or Electronic,Monaco,Other Two if you will.. Pretty funny to watch...if it remains semi-civilised!

Mind you the side projects reunited back under the New Order banner..Will NOOL?:skeptic:
