PRIMAL SCREAM

I know a few of you are into these.

They're doing a one-off gig at Manchester Apollo on 18th November. £20.00 standing.

i've only got Vanishing Point, not even Screamadelica. So No. No point. not wastin a score on that.

I mean one night only in Manchester. To be honest I will probably be bankrupt by November anyway.

Seeing them on saturday night. might get a ticket nearer the time, although i doubt it.

A band i've never really bothered with to be honest. But are they not supposed to be very good live, a score seems an excellent price for their tickets.

And Madrid/Barcelona (from memory, the same days that New Order are on?). :)

Glasgow too. Anyone interested in going to Glasgow? I asked GlasVegas, but he fcuked me right off.

I really like the Scream, although I have never seen them. I missed them at Glastonbury through sunburn, which isn't a very Rock 'n' Roll excuse I know.

They're shit now, Throb the axe meister is 'recovering' from doing too much brown (ie not playing) and Kev Shields has fucked off. Now they've gone all Stones e ish and left all the experimental shit behind. Cock rock indeed. But saying that im still off to the Toon' to see them as you do

The Scream are either blindingly good or complete shit, depending on their whims.

The new album isn't really my thing (wasn't a fan of "Give Out..."), but I have no doubt that they'll put on an incredible live show.

I came across this great live performance of Swastika Eyes the other day on YouTube. Mani is still tops.

seeing them @ Roskilde and it's a good thing that's a festival because i wouldn't pay for a gig...screamadelica , xtrminator and all those dirrrty beats !! but i can't stand that hippie crap (rocks and so on)..

It's such a cop out really with the Scream. It seems they have found the perfect formula to get big hits - and that is to revert back to the dumb Stones rip offs like with "Rocks" just because their more interesting dirty electronic stuff didn't really sell that well. (Evil Heat was actually rather good - love those nasty electro-stompers on that album - and it's pretty much a very underrated record).

Now they have to return to peddling all that lowest common denominator good times rock 'n' roll bullshit just to shift a few much needed units - and boy has everyone fallen for that shameless sub-Rod Stewart and the Faces single (Country Girl) too - me included. ;)

Have to say I found their Screamadelica era vastly overrated as well.

Got all (well,most) of their albums.The recent single ,Country Girl, is pretty good but not got the new album.

Screamadelica and Vanishing Point are good, don't care much for any of their other stuff, except, being a fey indie-kid at heart, for the very early jangle-tastic tunes... At least Country Girl getting Radio 1 play makes the journey to work more bearable if I get a lift in...

Agreed. That's my favourite track off Evil Heat - it's excellent - even though it's obviously Kraftwerk influenced (no bad thing as I've always been a fan of GOOD - and classic pioneerring - electronic music) therev is this wonderful hypnotic feel to it - sounds cliched but it IS perfect driving music. :)

But hey folks, let's not forget about a more crucial thing - we may all have a wry giggle at Barney's dancing but he's got NOTHING on Bobby Gillespie when HE really gets going - that Flowerpot Man HandClap ritual he does is such utter genius I think we should all adopt it as a future World Cup dance on the terraces when our team are winning - forget about Peter Crouch and his fookin robot dance - Bobby G's Dance is where it's at!! !

I know, I know. Mrs Shug always complains that she wants to go to more of these gigs, but she hates the fact we stay in the pub till two minutes before the Order take stage and miss all the other bands

she can come with me, i'll make sure she's ok ;-)
