What's your name? Hibster?
Rugberry is a sport(?) for very posh blokes and gayers.
In England, at least.
Oh I don't mind if they are actual chutney ferrets at all. I worry more about grown men needing a stretcher to be taken away cos they fell on some soft grass and knocked a hair out of place. Seen a rugby player have his ear gaffer taped back on on return to the field. :D
And weren't rugby and soccer both developed at the same time in public schools, so they have the same origins.
Stuart Pearce broke his leg playing for West Ham and tried to 'run it off'. ![]()
Now, that's quite hard.
Rugby was invented by someone who wasn't clever enough to understand the basic rules of football...

OK, I grant you that is kinda hard...or possibly just stupid :D
I mean they do say that the only reason a racing driver gets out of a burning wreck and into a spare car is becuse they are devoid of all brain tissue (and that's the opinion of a harley St Neurosurgeon). Possibly the same thing with these guys.
Have seen at least one stretcher carried on at the WC cos somebody fell over on some grass....needs his dad there to hit him a clip round the ear and tell him sto stop being a big jessie.
I'm glad I don't play tiddly winks with you lot! Rugby is a far tougher sport than soccer.
Ooh Ooh I've hurt my leg, stop the game for 5 mins while I recooperate.

And they can't even understand that a half is meant to be 45 minutes long ![]()

I played women's rugby in college
most of those girls (and for some of them the term is used very loosely) would eat you alive.

See, not only am I a goby cunt, I am a recently educated gobby cunt.
Rugby and Soccer were developed in parallell, both as the game of football, in the early days, a player would not have played one or the other, but both, at will depending on the ruless agreed before eaach game. It was only when the embryonic FA tried to nail the rules down that the Rugby variant was written out, and the rugger buggers sulked off to form their own governing body.
Therefor the "footie is for the people, rugger is for the toffs" line is patent bollox.
I do not contest that everyone who plays footie is a nonce, just the really famous player.....we've all seen some kid pull his kneecap off on the all weather pitch and get back in goal like.
I would suggest BTW that the most pampered lifeforms on the planet are racing drivers, yet you can bounce them off a wall at 200 mph and they' climb out of their own car and walk back to the pit (or, if you are kimi Raikonen, the nearest large drink). If the rules allow, they will find another car to wreck almost immeadiately.

have i stumbled across a web site from the past or do people still really believe this?
Old Blue wrote: Rugby was invented by someone who wasn't clever enough to understand the basic rules of football...
i'd wager the laws of rugby are far more complex than those of football. half the players don't understand the laws of rugby!

based on what exactly? last season bristol signed some ex amateur players, one was a welder from coventry, one a builder from plymouth. neither of them are posh, if you want to call them gay i'll gladly hold your coat.
how often are you going to keep trotting out this stereotype? maybe going back sixty years or so when it was amatuer you had english teams made up of doctors & the like, but not any more

Er, based on the fact I live in London, not Bumfuk, where rugberry is played, in the main, by very posh boys. Seeing as I work for an Investment Bank you can imagine the type that make up our rugberry team. It ain't working class oiks, that's for sure.
I can trot it out as long as you keep referring to football as poofball. ![]()
you work in an investment bank. that's hardly working class is it?
you can't disagree that football players go down easier than a crack whore in corby though

Why's anyone still arguing with you Hibster? you've won, by a mile, with that.
For the F1 fraternity I offer Nikki lauda, half man, half BBQ malfunction.
Or what about James hunt, who's gear stick top came off with 1/3 of the Brittish GP to go, so he smashed his hand onto the spike where it had been ,rammed it right through his hand and stayed like that, driving one handed, for the rest of the race.

Yeah, now there's a man's sport :)
Eagles are still top after coming back in the last quarter to beat Carlton. My beloved Crows are second and 4 points ahead of Eddiewood who got beaten by Melbourne today.

probably because working class cities like Liverpool for example just don't care about Rugby.

That isn't the point that I first reacted to though, is it? Cambo suggested that heterosexual men cared about rugberry, pooves(!) about football. Which patently isn't the case.
It's also a bit of a sweeping generalisation to say that players go down easily in football.
Try telling that to this bloke. ![]()
