Fuck the US it's one thing that the Midatlantic states have that no one else does

The first wawa that opened 30-40 years ago is my local wawa

they sold things at 1960s prices one day

that was fucking ace

The world needs more Wawas. The convenience stores in Boston - lamely named Store 24 - don't make hoagies at all, don't sell pretzels or Tasty Kakes, have crappy coffee, and don't carry anything remotely like Canada Dry pineapple, black cherry whisniak, and cream sodas.

But then again, even the corner stores in Philly sell hoagies.

Were you born in South Philly? A friend of mine insists that Wawas originated in South Jersey. I tell her they're from Philly.

Awesome cities to explore (Chicago, San Francisco, NYC, San Diego, etc etc)

Great theatre (all kinds too)!

Tasty food (Ruby Tuesday's, Bob Evans pancakes, Cracker Barrel, Jamba Juice, Starbucks, Krispy Kremes, TGIF Jack Daniels' meals, Sonic cherry limeades, Ben and Jerry's ice cream... ooh, the list is very long indeed)

Wide range of denim jeans

the people

I love America

The first thing I thought of was New York... closely followed by Hollywood. But I kinda think that's overrated now. All Aussie tabloid magazines talk about is "OMGZ SHOCKER PARIS HILTON ACTUALLY WEARS SOME CLOTHES!" and etc.

But they've definitely brought out some awesome films. Like The Shawshank Redemption.

And southern American accents are much love.

I know there are tons of hot cars...from Ferrari to Lambos to jags and Benzes

but a Detroit V-8 (especially in a muscle car)?

THAT will always slay me.

American is full of wonderful humble selfless people who proudly claim they are the most wonderful people in the world and boast that Americans never would ever do anything to hurt or harm or degrade another human being because we care alot really

America is the birthplace of Acid House (thou it took the rest of the world to appreciate it)

Rap and Hip hop culture

The Stooges

The Velvet Underground

Scientology and Mormanism...leave it to America to come up with the most hare-brained derivations on "religion" ever :evil4:

And David Hasselhoff...America is smart enough to reject his "music" no matter how much the Germans love him. Just when I start to get down on the USA, I remember that I've never heard the following on a radio station anywhere on our side of the pond: "And now here's the latest chart-topper by David Hasselhoff..." :nonono:

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid : granted, I've probably watched it more than I should this week, but I'm thinking it's the best Western ever. Certainly better than Shanghai Noon.

Weezer...to hell with Nirvana, these guys made my adolesence just a little easier to get through.

Andy Kaufman

actually standing in line at the no-frills, slow service White Castle next to potheads, drunken bargoers, bums, etc. at 3am in the middle of the night is unique... it is almost European in nature... certainly somewhat unique in America except for New York city.
