I've heard the Europeans can spot an American by the white sneakers. Maybe you should add a pair of white Nikes to the list??

um no

The MUST HAVE accessory of chavs and scallies alike are prison white trainers.

Everyone else hates them, while they don't particularly hate anyone. I'd feel pretty safe walking around here in an Iran or Iraq t-shirt, but I sure as hell wouldn't go to those countries and wear a USA t-shirt! A bit like any one sided rivalry (NY Yanks v Boston Red Sox, for you baseball fans) where the put upon one is much more interested in the rivalry than the putter uponer.

Please don't compare us to the US, there's a good chap. :nono:

I need to add with the requests to Shellshocker and say please stop trying so hard.

Yes, you post on a board where people from around the world post. But you don't have to prove how much you know about their culture by calling soccer footie or using angloslang.

You are a generally enjoyable and plesant person (whereas I realize I am not) but you'd be even more so if you just "be".

Don't 'chavs' and 'scallies' count as Angloslang?

What should I have called them? We don't have a comparable group and I was referring specifically to those in England and Europe as went by the context of the conversation.

Ta, Mate!

but a serious answer to your point. I should have prefaced it by "forced" angloslang.

no, not really.... there's a difference between forcing something online to fit in and actually using natural vocabulary that comes to you easily. :P

I'm sure Christie, as well as other Americans who've also lived in the UK for any extended period of time have terms like that slipping back into their normal usage.. especially if you're around it a lot.

Hey, I'm just telling you before one of these jerkoffs starts in. I think you're nice and wouldn't want to see you driven away by cnuts. :P

I mean OI! How's ur mum. IT's PIE IT's CHIPS FOR FREE!!! Apples and Pears etc

I agree entirely. American's wear the worst cut jeans known to mankind. You see some really pretty girls in the States who just blow it completely by wearing these stonewashed abominations that are the same width round the thighs, the kness and the ankles. Aint you Yank chicks ever heard of Diesel?

God how long ago was that?? Those sound awful. Did these women have big frosted hair and still wear bangs as well??

All of my jeans are fitted (and most are boot cut) and I don't think I've seen stone washed jeans in 15 years.

Diesel are very popular here... Dirty denim Diesel is just going out of style thank god.. never got the dirty denim thing.

That's called fashion, my friend. The fashion now is the low-riding style, so that you can see half the underwear. Holes in the knees are optional. :barf:

It's something I've noticed every time I've been to the US of A, most recently this time last year. That's why I was nodding so enthusiastically to Al's comments. My ex and I actually spent the whole of one trip having a running competition to see who could spot the worst cut jeans. It was like shooting fish in a barrel during the Vegas leg of the holiday!

But CM, bootcut?!!!! That's like soooo three years ago. Get with the skinny-fit program. Although as only about 10% of chicks who wear them can actually pull it off I'd tread carefully.

No I think you'll find skinny fit was 3 years ago!! : I can't pull it off anyway! My hips are too big. Style has to do with body shape too ;)

My stylist says bootcut are most flattering. Especially hip riding bootcut so you can see the THONG hahaha :evil4:

I saw a disgusting pair in Winsford a couple of weeks ago.

The image still haunts me - I have not been able to masturbate ever since.
