I feel so sorry for you.
I found my Daria in the middle of the street, her body was still warm... A bloody sad day because I had dreamed of her dead body at the very same place a few mounths before (sometimes I feel like Barney in EGG)... I still feel responsible for this, in some ways, even if it happened three years ago... On this day, when I drove away from home, I had a last glance at her thinking "why the fuck do you always think about this crappy dream ? See, she's afraid of your car, she will never be run over"...

erm...when the French surrendered to the Nazis, I believe the Brits carried on...so I'm not quite sure that your logic is entirely sound...but hey, whatever floats your boat...

It can be as high as $50 at one shop across the street, but Comrade prefers the shop across the street that sell it for $33.

Brits were (and still are) on an island... and you were on the other side of the Ocean until 1942 (by the way, nobody complained about your non-involment at the League of Nations in 1939 as you did with us a few years ago at the UN)... I am not sure that even with American troops on the Continent in 1939 - May 1940, the three armies could have stop the Nazis, who invaded two neutral countries to invade France by the North instead of the East. What would have thought the Belgians if the French built the same fortifications they built by the French-German border ? Incident diplomatique ?
Then, the British carried on - that was the Battle of Britain and I think you know that 1/3 of the RAF pilots were pilots from disbanded continental air forces + some American pilots who decided to fight for Democracy before the USA officially entered in the war...
