ADD, which manifests itself as a short attention span when I'm bored, and intense focus when i'm interested. Procrastination. It's why I'm on NOOL instead of graduating. :evil4:

I'm skinter than skint.

I tend not to talk with strangers as well, which makes me come off as unfriendly.

Shyness--

Most of the time people assume the worst when your shy.

My generally mellow demeanour, in accordance with the universe hating imbalance, is counterweighted with the most vicious, nasty, spiteful temper when provoked.

I also tend to react emotionally before intellectually on important matters, bit like Jem said....heading off guns blazing with only the mildest clue WTF is going on, double likely if a friend is being mistreated.

I have a real isssue with mixing tracks that aren't a rumbly mess cos I have a bass fetish. I'm a fucking useless angler. Not a tremendously good bassplayer

And right now something of a useless lump of lard on legs :D

Escaping into the world of method acting when the real world gets tough. Holding emotions in until I break. The fact that I feel so misunderstood, including my humor.

The weakness of my English which can be explained by another default : idleness (I have not opened an English grammar book since 1991) The fact that I cannot drink alcohol anymore - no will to go out drinking with people anymore. Non-enthoutiast to new things : distrust in marketing. Not able to say no. Not able to demand. I often feel like a magnet with weird people and cannot tell them to leave me alone. Hate of telephone. Spoken Spanish makes me laugh - I know it is bad but this language sounds like an entertaining sketch to my ears. Pretend that I do not understand a single word of English when an Englishman or Armerican I do not know starts to speak to me without saying something polite like "Sorry, I do not speak French" or, even better "Excusez-moi, je ne parle pas français, parlez-vous anglais ?" (I make exceptions in critical situations - I cannot let people in unease situations) Pretend not to be French when I meet stupid French abroad. The pressure-cooker syndrome. I keep everything in me until the fatal explosion.

 A common French attribute, I hear...

I used to never suffer fools at work gladly, especially when they should've known better about things, but I've mellowed a bit in that regard the last couple of years.

You're not a "NO!!! Get away from me and NEVER ask me out again!!!" kind of reader, either. :evil4:

Not at all... I find arrogant when people coming to you speak like if you were meant to understand at once. It is all about having a minimum of polite manners, to be kind. Otherwise, it looks like behaving like a ... And I do not like to deal with people without manners... (another A Few Not-So-Great Things about You! on my list)

When I travel, I always make a point of attempting to speak in the language of the country I'm in. And if i can't, I ask if the person speaks English (sometimes they ask me because it's a common language).

My sister, on the other hand, is just rude. She just walks up to people and starts speaking to them in English, without first asking if they speak English. :nono:

Twins on that one two !

But if your sister claims one day that she met a Frenchman who could not utter two words of English, that was surely humble Jiphy.

I remember two stories. An Englishman was very irritating with me and spoke like I was to obey him, pushing me and so... until he told me in French "Excuse me Sir, could you do that for me please" in an almost perfect French. And I answered that "it is my pleasure to do so, especially when it is asked so kindly" in English. You should have look the amazement in his eyes... Same thing in Prague. Two Frenchwomen were behaving very badly and I was doing like I was not understanding until they said that the Czechs were real cunts... and I replied, quite easily in a perfect French "French are meant to be seen as real huge cunts abroad and it ashames me to see that it is true."

  • Vous êtes français ?
  • Dans le mille connasse, maintenant allez vous faire foutre hors de ma vue... I do not normally use rude words, but they had what they deserved...

The Hasselhoff reference reminds me of something I saw earlier tonight on a program here in the States called "Access Hollywood." They were doing a segment on some kind of American Idol spin off in which Hasselhoff is going to be one of the judges. When a reporter stopped him on the street to ask him about this new show, Hasselhoff just turned to the reporter and said, "Don't hassle the Hoff." I nearly broke down in tears I was laughing so hard when I heard that. So the next time someone asks you to do something at work tomorrow, just tell them, "Don't hassle the Hoff."
