That's why I said I was embarressed. I tend to call them a JD rip off because they really don't sound like them... but they are trying to defo.

Either way, I think it should be kinda fun. I'm more looking forward to a cheap gig than anything else.

Thank God I didn't buy the CD. My college paper rated it as a star and a half, and called them JD and Depeche Mode ripoffs. Enough said.

I heard their concerts are buzzing with teenieboppers or at least that was the case when they were here at the 9:30 Club in DC last year.

After all the hype, the band kind of fizzled into obscurity fast. But I do like their sound mainly the song "Tear You Apart"

I like that song too, so I downloaded the album. Was a bit disappointed as the rest of their stuff was so bland.

I interviewed their singer for my college paper. Not a bad guy, although I wasn't impressed by their album. Both them and the Editors seem to be influenced by JD, the early Cure, the Smiths, and circa 1984 Depeche Mode. The only difference? She Wants Revenge seems to lift riffs right off the Cure and the singer tries to copy that disconnected, dead pan Ian Curtis vocal style. They're mediocre live - they opened for DM - but not horrid.

Never heard about them before, but downloaded a album from Soulseek last night.

From the little I had time to listen to it, it doesn't sound that bad.

I listen to them on myspace. But I'm not getting their CD.

i actually enjoyed the album...i wouldn't go far as to 'comparing' them to JD as i've heard on every 'alternative' station between las vegas and chicago. but, i think they's ayeet!

The instrumentation doesn't sound like JD but the lead singer sounds like he's trying to copy Ian's vocal style. The Depeche Mode influence is more obvious live when you hear the keyboards more but the bassist/keyboardist is no Alan Wilder; his skills are above that of Fletch but not exactly Martin Gore's.

Also, when I interviewed the lead singer Justin Warfield, he told me they also listened to old school rap and trip hop and that was also an influence on their album. I just don't hear it. Does anyone else?

Come on now, Jesse, I'M a better keyboardist than Fletch, and I don't even play keyboards! It doesn't take much effort to stand there twiddling a few knobs and clapping my hands in the air. When my gf and I stalked DM to get our photos with them, we were going to get a pic with Fletch and have us all clapping over our heads. It would've been great, dammit.

Had 'em on download for a while now,Tear You Apart got some airplay on Zane Lowe's show on Radio 1 the other night. Whether it's going to get a belated/reissue release quite soon I don't no.Good song though.There's a bit of early Soft Cell thrown in there.
