They've certainly forgot about a lot of bands. The list just seems to target acts created in the past 4 years. I'd include the Bee Gees and the Village People, Journey/Styx/Reo Speedwagon, Wham, Flock of Seagulls, Gin Blossoms, Spin Doctors, Phish, Goo Goo Dolls, Kiss, Dave Matthew Band, and Hootie and the Blowfish.

"Hello" was used to great dramatic effect in one of the more...erm, "romantic" scenes of "The 40 Year Old Virgin"

And it helped bring into existence the greatest music video of all time...in which Lionel persistantly harasses and stalks a blind woman
:D
How come no one has nominated that sick-inducing song by Dean Friedmann - "You Can Thank Your Lucky Stars" - it usually always gets an airing on the "romantic" hour of any regional commercial radio stattion. Truly gagworthy it is too!

Actually, talking of recent wusses, aren't Keane supposed to be more rocky on that second album of theirs? That recent single so desperately wants to be like U2 and Bono - even with rip off Edge-alike guitar sounds on it (good god!) and the fat hamster faced singer going all Bono on the vox. "Is It Any Wonder" you're so crap indeed, you girls blouses!!!
I suppose when it comes down to the newer breed of wusses, James Blunt and Coldplay apart, I can't think of any better band to nominate but Travis - who started off basically quite rocky but every album they have released has become progressively more wet, simpering and gloopy. Fooking mummies boys!

I heard about 10 seconds of it. hamster face still sounds like he's gonna cry while he's singing, so no amount of guitars can cover up their wussiness.

It's just a waste of trees, basically. Music journalism has become shit, with high-strung out-of-it former hippies propping up their favorite artists of the past and with-it hipsters telling me that if I don't own the latest five-song EP by some indie band in upper Manhattan who replaced the "conventional sounds of rock and roll, i.e., guitars and drums" with beating on garbage cans and singing their vocals upside down under water, I don't deserve to continue reading the article.
But enough about how Tiger Beat sucks... :p
I think we should start a new magazine-Rip Magazine. We'll rip easy targets new a-holes every month! Issue 1: Ten dumbest Texas politicians. ![]()
