Bush is so embarrassing. No words for him really. He sounded so rude talking to Tony Blair. He kept interrupting him...I can't wait for 2008...

I heard this and I've been combing the Internet for various articles and whatnot, and I think it's a disgrace for Mr Bush to refer to Mr Blair as "Yo, Blair!". How chav-like and uncouth...

I still can't believe we elected him TWICE but ah well, what can you do?

Listened to it twice, but can't hear the "Yo, Blair" bit. (Notice the comma - correct English )

I know this is a thread to basically rant, but it seems like a conversation between two people. They know each other quite well, so I don't see what all the "ta-do" about it. So they talk like normal people. . .what's the big deal?

You are right in a way. But it does not fit the protocol of such a meeting.

It's not the fact that Mr Bush used profanity that's the point. I'm frankly frightened that somebody like you thinks this way. It's how he's over-simplifying politics by casually remarking how they need to just "stop it" and it's over, that's scary, not the fact the he used profanity. Well, if that's the case, then I suppose wars and other crisises wouldn't occur, because you could just tap the guy on the shoulder, or ring him up on the phone telling them to "stop it". On another note, apparently, the US government is willing to evacuate fellow US citizens out of Lebanon, only if the evacuees will reimburse the fees for doing so. Other countries have evacuated their citizens out of Lebanon without charging them... Shame...shame...shame... Even if you're not American, this still is an outrageous thing to think of. If the government's got the money to spend on the "war", as well as pork-barrel projects (whatever you call those things), then they should be able to evacuate their own citizens without charging them!

I think there was a lot of discussion in the past about whether this "village idiot" way of behaving is an act or not. Well, based on this event...I'm starting to think it's a genuine malady

Last night, the US govt decided to waive the fee. So, the Americans get evacuated for free. Yay Condy!

because if the US did it would be acknowledging that Israel is doign something to cause harm to the rest of the world and that's just not done!
