Well... even if Finland is meant to be a bilingual state with its military free zone where the Swedish minority lives.

As I know Finland is part of Scandinavia... But no other scandinavian country likes them because they're kind of strange people . A pal of mine is half a fin (a very strange person indeed ).

And yes they have a obscure language somwhere between russian and "scandinavish"...

I remember some years back, looking at a family tree of European languages, and Finnish was the only one that had its own branch! That alone tells you they are a different people.

Wikipedia said something like Finland is sometimes considered part of Scandenavia and sometimes not. Too lazy to re-look it up now, though. :)

To me, Finland is not part of Scandinavia...

Concerning languages, they belong to a group where you find Finnish, Estonian and Hungarian. Finnish and Estonian look like pretty the same. I think these people can understand themselves like the Scandinavians do. I have been twice in Finland and as I do not like to speak English at first in a foreign country, I know a few words of finnish... Having lived in an Hungarian aera of Slovakia, I still cannot see the link between Finnish and Hungarian. They are both difficult languages to the foreigner... Maybe some grammar in common, but the vocabulary is completly different.

Yeah, it wouldn't be advisable to call a Taff or a Scotsman an English person.

i do think some people are confused though. There's this tit of a lad who works in the same place as me who has a Man Utd tattoo on his leg (not the reason he's a tit before anyone says!) who absolutely hates the English, would support anyone over England. I never really got it, unless he's a really really big fan of Giggsy
