Hmmm. Leathergirl takes it upon herself to speak for all women (albeit not those with low IQs, natch) and 68 Pontiac takes it upon himself to stand in as the voice of modern manhood.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls: we're all fucked.

You don't hear about women thinking with their private parts when they look at men.

You've obviously not heard about Missy Jem's porn collection!

Shhhh Monty that was a secret, i'm not lending you some now!!

Leather girl, why are you so offended? Pictures like these are everywhere you look, magazines, TV advertising, billboards, buses... I don't find that avatar the least bit offensive. If she was totally topless, then it might be a bit racy for an avatar, but it certainly wouldn't shock or offend me.

As for the model, if she's 'chubby not thin', then believe me i want to be chubby and not thin. So it's not alright for women to be half naked but it's ok for them to be thin??

I'd love you to meet a friend of mine who models lingerie in London. Her IQ is off the scale, so certainly doesn't conform to your stereotype.

Mary Whitehouse lives and breathes!

It's about time we had another thread about tits, isn't it? A combined favourite subject.

It strikes me that if you got rid of all the sluts, slags and cheap underwear around here there'd only be 68 Pontiac and Leathergirl left.

And we wouldn't want that, would we?

There are simply too many men who think that women need to be half-naked to be attractive, and I loathe such men who think that way.

i don't know anybody who thinks that women need to be half naked to be attractive

have you thought about trying the 21st century by the way? some of your views seem to pre date victorian attitudes

Well, maybe all the straight guys in Japan think that women have to be half-naked to be attractive.

I really wouldn't have thought that the Japanese would have a problem with their imaginations, I mean, you have seen some of the cartoons those guys have come up with...of course, those are probably done by women and gay men...

who knew???

As I've mentioned in a different thread, I loathe all sexist men. I like men who are not sexist. You don't hear about women thinking with their private parts when they look at men. But there are a lot of sexist men who think with their you-know-whats instead of their brains. I'm not saying it's wrong to wear revealing clothing, but it's just that I get the feeling that men who happen to be sexist only think a woman is attractive when a woman is half-naked. There's no denying that people find nudity to some extent attractive, but as I've said, sexist men think being half-naked is the only way for a woman to be attractive

I'm a staunch feminist, not to defend women, but because I want all people to be kind to each other. Women just happen to be the underdogs in too many areas so for now I think they need more support.

I think it is a mistake to attribute thoughts or beliefs, even ones that you consider good or right, to women purely based on their sex. Basing it on someone's gender is sexist. If we want to be treated with equal respect and equal value, we have to assert that women have opinions that span the whole spectrum. Women are not inherently better, or more moral, or immune from perving at a guy with his shirt off, half off even. Yes, women and men are different creatures but the point, to me, of being a feminist is to dispell the myth that one sex is better than the other and that one sex deserves greater power and respect than the other.

I think most men are able to find women attractive both clothed and unclothed, just as I do as a person who likes to look at beautiful things.

But no, i don't like your avatar either John because I hate that people have dumb jobs like that. As a society, we place too much emphasis on how we look. My five year old daughter thinks her head is the wrong shape. That makes me sad.

my three cents.

I'm a feminist too. But I also love the sight of tits. So I'm torn. Thankfully, I can wear many hats.

Well you being a strong feminist, we probably wouldn't last 10 minutes in a room together. However, I think your point is well written and I have to agree with you on this one.
