....according to Liam's least-fave daily rag, The Guardian. There is a blurb about them being "electronic Godfathers" who are playing provincial venues for the first time in 20 years, and there is a suggestion that they drop Blue Monday and starting mixing their sets up a wee bit like in the 80s. Other Autumnal highlights include Scarlett Johannsen's ever-expaning bosom in De Palma's new flick.

Actually, my least fave rag is the Independent. Because that Commie cunt Johann Hari writes for it.

I stand corrected, Comrade Core.

Er, Liam. I'd have thought even Sun journalists come labelled as 'Commie cunts' by your good self, no?!

Have you seen the 1st item on Page 8?

Think you must have an earlier edition to mine, Col: the story on p.8 is about some bloody sports consortium (unless there is some oblique quasi-reference that I'm too dumb to pick up on?). Ah, the heady days of living in Aberdeen: so far north that the papers had to be shipped up before the previous evenings football results could hit the press!!!

I read it online - can't be arsed to wait for it to be delivered.

This is the item:

Race to save Churchill's funeral train carriage

A fundraising effort was launched yesterday to save the railway carriage that held Sir Winston Churchill's body in his funeral train. The former Southern Railways luggage van converted for the occasion in 1965 is languishing in a mock English station on a golf course in the US. Its owners are planning to break up the carriage but will donate it to Britain as long as someone pays the £40,000 needed to bring it from Los Angeles to the UK. The Swanage Railway Trust, Dorset, is leading the campaign. The carriage was taken to the US by a Churchill enthusiast and moved to the golf course after his death. Steven Morris

New Order It's 20 years since the Mancunian electronic godfathers last toured regional venues in places like Blackpool and Bournemouth. If they return to their 1980s policy of playing wildly different sets each night, audiences starting to tire of hearing Blue Monday for the 4,567th time are in for a real treat. · Bournemouth Centre (0870 1113000) on October 9, then touring Book now

(Surely that second pic constitutes "images of bestiality": are we all in possession of said material, or just the poor webmaster??!!??)

I was looking for the Miami Vice one to illustrate that not everything about the 80s was good.

The search also uncovered the Hoff shot, which I couldn't resist in light of earlier references to bestiality and other forms of 'wrong' sex.

Edit: Incidentally, the Ferrari in that picture is not, in fact, a Ferrari. It's a very bad replica which was used in the pilot, much to the disgust of Ferrari USA.

In response, they provided the white Testarossa that was used in the series free of charge, along with several spare cars a team of mechanics and another one for Don Johnson to use.

Do I win £40?

No £40, as you neglected to mention that the 'replica' was powered by a GM engine - equivalent in torque and power to that which would probably have been found in a 1974 Vauhall Viva deluxe.

I say both Col and Clive should donate £40 each to charity for demonstrating painflly trainspotterish tendencies rarely found outside the borough of Crewe and Alsager.
