Not a big Kasabian fab myself but a friend in Poland requested their new LP (she is a massive fan)and because i'm in Warsaw now, i'm listening to her CD and it rocks!!!! Didn't expect it to have so many references to glam rock, the more the better if you ask me:clap:

:abovelol: 'Empire' is wicked!

I've heard a couple of Kasabian songs, and liked them a lot. I'll have to check into them more seriously. Didn't know they were glam rock, though.

I checked wikipedia and rateyourownmusic and neither made any mention of glam rock. Oh well.

She may have meant that it only has references on the record to glam rock. not that the music itself is glam rock.

Thanks. That's a better explanation than I can come up with. :)

THEY ARE NOT A GLAM ROCK BAND. Sorry, had to put it in capital letters, otherwise you would go on and on about it:crazy: 'Empire' has got loads of glam rock sounds on it and i love it!

SHOOT THE RUNNER is proper GLAM...with no kiddie-fiddler in sight!

Alright, I saw this thread and just had to say something. This album rocks, I was disappointed it came out too late for the mercury award (I presume thats the case anyway). But I'm not sure yet if I like it more than there debut. But Empire is a fricking ace single, best this year. I love the glam influence, they've created some real stomp rock glam tracks.

They've spent too much time with Oasis, all this rock shenanigans:nono:

I dont know why, but they remind of the Happy Mondays a bit. One of the new songs deffo sounds like 'Tiger Feet' by Mud though.

They rip off New Order. I prefer the authentic sound of the fab four of Manchester.

Kasabian is all about Oasis, Happy Mondays and New Order that's why i wasn't keen on their first album (because they were fakes)... 'Empire' is a realy good album, it's got rock and dance tunes! Oh and btw, when they do all that glam rock thing i don't see is as being fakes because it refers to your roots!

my roots aren't steeped in this.

i find the Empire to be totally derivative and not being a glam fan, also not a fan of empire. Their first cd was far more impressive because for me it DIDN'T draw on any one particular influence and showed a band toying with their own distinctive sound. i won't be buying this one :\ohwell:

That was fookin amazing! He looked like his legs would snap they were so long and thin, but he bounced it up and wellied it straight through. He was as shocked as everybody. Quality!

I like Kasabian by the way.
